Booking my flights right now. Sounds like I'd be running over people assuming we even land on time. I'm flying solo and the connecting flights are both United if that makes a difference.

its rarely viable to explore a city on your layover unless it's like, overnight

I've done it but yes you would basically be running over people

I had a 45 minute layover one time and it was fucking stressful. After flying like 4 hours I had a layover in Dallas to then fly to Philly, I had never been in that airport and the gate for my flight was literally on the other side of the airport from where I landed.

Luckily I made it with like 10 to spare but shit was still scary.

anthony bourdain lied to me?!

idk man the blue line connects o'hare to basically all of chicago - should at least get lunch/dinner in wicker park :D :D :D

you need an extra 2 hrs to come back, vs ~45min to go from plane to plane. you go thru security a second time.

plus time to get there, plus time to eat

so you'd realistically need like a 4hr layover to enjoy 1hr in the city. 1hr you spend staring at your watch.

literally the busiest time of the year for travel. by "go both ways" do you mean "it could be jam-packed with people and super busy or it could be overflowing with people and incredibly busy," or wat

I guess you're right. I was just thinking that it's a Monday but it also happens to be right before a holiday lol I don't fly domestically usually so this never is an issue.

i don't think you realize how great the falafel sandwich at sultan's market is tbh.

i'm sure it is great.

we have falafel in my city too and it is quite nice. i need not risk screwing up a trip to try someone else's.

no one who has gone through security at an airport would want to do that again for any reason short of an overnight
