I got every single collectible in that game when I was 10 and loved it. There were a few annoying ones for sure, but collectathons were my jam.
I actually prefer DK64 to Mario 64. Mario 64's great, but I think it's the most overrated game ever. Praised for its innovation and importance over its actual gameplay and content. The entire point of Green Stars is for older players to still have challenging levels while the base game is fine for newcomers.

I love everything about DK64 except the insane extent of collecting. The furthest I'm willing to go with that is Banjo Tooie, which people love to accuse for stuff DK64 is way more guilty of.

No, not just every single golden banana. Every single banana. Every banana of every color for every Kong in every area. They dont even count that towards completion. Im not sure why I did it. Probably because when I was a kid, I couldnt beat K Rool, so it was some kind of overzealous vengeance tour to utterly demolish the game. Like, I dont know where my N64 is but if I dug it out and opened that save file, there would be literally nothing in the game except respawning enemies. Theres NOTHING remaining.
