List them and why.

Nothern Exposure - witty and quirky, the best of the best TV in the 90s

Twin Peaks - oddity at its best. Wouldn't be on this list if it wasn't for the brilliant 3rd season.

Curb Your Enthusiasm - comedy gold.

The Sopranos - the best humanistic character study, the family man just happens to be a psychopath

All great suggestions. Six feet under was wonderful and beautiful. Put a subject that is morbid into a perspective.

Breaking Bad - Amazing balance of comedy and gut wrenching drama with fantastic acting, pacing, writing and everything.

The Wire - Feels gritty and more realistic than any other show I've seen. Mostly avoids tropes and cliches.

Mad Men - Awesome character study with a complex ensemble.

King of the Hill

Love it. Hank is the man, even for a Republican.

Bobby - "what if someone asks for a well-done steak?"

Hank - "We politely, but firmly, ask them to leave."

Great British comedies. My best friend is Scottish, and he comes over often and always wants to watch these. They are great.

Brass Eye is a British news parody show. there are only a handful of episodes but they're hilarious.

Burn Notice has like 8 seasons I think and it's a show where this guy is a CIA agent but he's out of the CIA for some reason and he ends up going around Miami doing jobs for people. has really cool and interesting moments like turning a motion activated light into a shotgun turret
