Maybe it's a little different where your from, but where I'm from it would be illegal to pay someone less than minimum wage regardless if tips are a thing or not.

When I was in high school I worked in the kitchen of a small restaurant. Between cooking, plating and cleaning we never had a free moment. We made the same amount as the wait staff but on top of it they got tips and usually had a decent amount of down time.

It was pretty unfair over all to us that on a busy night they would make up to triple what we would with less work.

All this becomes null if your in a country that is allowed to pay below minimum wage.

The plus side about people that don't tip is that they're usually single men who eat alone. Single entree, maybe one or two drinks, they stare at the TV for a few minutes and then they go home to deed. These are the bills that are usually the cheapest, so the server is not stiffed out of all that much money.

A lot of fashion or body related stuff with women. Not calling them out on it. But compare the turnover of women's fashion to the turnover of guy's fashion. A 30-40 something guy from the 1950's could be transported to today and basically keep the same getup.

If you don't like waiters, don't go for the sit-down experience, TC. Almost any restaurant will allow to carry take-out if you want. Fortunately, you ranting on a GameFAQs board will not magically change American society.
