And I really mean like "meh, alright" rather than the good aight. Thor being a god only really works against him because it raises the same questions people have about why Superman can't just annihilate everything in his way but Thor is literally a god only with a lack of requisite absurd almightiness for it. He's just a pretty strong dude that shoots lightning. Doesn't really help that the movie is a lot of Marvel memes that I didn't find particularly funny.

Ask me anything.

The ending credit scenes suck balls btw. They've been on a long downward trend (Spiderman's was chuckleworthy but still whatever) and they're scraping the bottom now.

The only difference with Thor is that with his own movies (especially 2 and 3) they take place outside of Earth, where many people are as strong as him.

Not to mention it's shown in the trailer that his hammer, his source of power, was destroyed at the beginning of the movie

I live in Korea. Marvel movies always come out here like a week in advance. Korea LOVES Marvel stuff so the movies always kill here. Plus they often film here (Avengers 2 obviously has a bunch of scenes in Seoul and a Korean character; Black Panther was filming all over Busan).

Setting the movies in Asgard/space solves the power issue but Asgard being super boring and underdeveloped causes other issues. There's a few scenes where Asgardians are being menaced and it's just like "So these demi-god people are supposed to just being medieval peasants in space? What the hell?"

The first one is Thor + crew going back to earth and running into a huge space ship. I assume it's Thanos' ship or something.

The second one is just a lame coda to Jeff Goldblum's character that wasn't funny or interesting. He just pops out of a box in front of a bunch of goons and says "Let's just call the revolution a tie" and then it ends.

did it feel like a 70s - 80s space opera moive? Like Barberlla or Flash Gordon.

because that one trailer made it feel like that way.

The movie poster is pointing toward that way as well

Guardian of the Galaxy 2 had a space opera poster also. But it didn't feel like a space opera. It needed more synthesized music and epic battles.

It uses a lot of synth in the sound track and has a bunch of neon and bright colours. If they had the free reign to just make it about aliens it would probably feel more spacey but Thor being Norse mythology, at least for me, makes a lot of cognitive dissonance about Asgard technically just being a planet of aliens. I would say it's about as close as Marvel would get to being a space opera.

What are you on about, it came out Tuesday. Or are you only just realising that the country you live in is not the only country in the world?

I saw it last night.
Easily the best of the three Thor movies IMO and is also one of my favourite Marvel movies now.
