It's their way of retaliating after Trump won, it's been pretty apparent the past half year or so I guess it's their way of fighting back by letting posters rip into well-known conservatives on CE with no recourse, IIRC there's only one mod that identifies as a Republican and even he isn't that big on Trump.

I think overmodding is going to kill the site faster than letting some trolls do their thing. Mods should keep spoilers and obscenity off the site and leave everything else be. Otherwise you'll get moderations based on disagreement, instead of ToU violations.

It's a distinction without a difference imo. You're gonna get tired of the site real quick if nobody can post in your topics for one reason or another. The site is dying enough as it is, SBAllen lessened how strict the ToU was a few years back to try to salvage the boards because people responded that poor modding was a huge turn off. There's no reason to lock a topic just because you don't like the content. At some point you gotta figure that people who don't like ribbing with Addy are just not gonna click on those topics anyways so only people who are fine with it are going to be posting in there. It's not like it's a huge inconvenience for the whole site to have a troll topic here or there.
