shrug. if our estimates are right (and, if they're not, it only will make it more common), the odds of two sibs both being trans is about 1 in 9 million. and that's also assuming there's absolutely no genetic component.

Honestly, I do, kinda.

The question that's bugging me a little more is... Does anybody remember a few years ago when some of the news was saying one of them was transgender, and then they denied it? Like it was just a silly rumor floating around? I swear to god that happened, but I can't find anything about it anymore. It's like one of those Berenstein things, where I've inexplicably crossed over to another universe somehow without realizing it.

i suppose that's true. just makes me wonder if there are external factors influencing this. at least in their cases.

average rate of trans for XX / XY chromosomes is about 1/1000, average rate for trans of XXY, XXX, or XXXY chromosomes is 1/10.

I believe there is too, but I don't think it's anywhere near proven, yet. could definitely still be (only) a developmental thing.

lana definitely deflected (if not outright denied) for a while, yeah. probably pretty worried about her career. first one in her position to do this, and right after a couple flops? could have easily been game over.

edit: i think I might have my timing wrong. feel free to ignore the career speculation.

Only weird because I don't really see the point for either of them. White guys way after puberty seem to usually look fairly awkward transitioning.

But hey, kudos to them. As long as it was their sober decision to go that route.

Not always. I've known someone who started when they were 18-19, and they pretty much already looked like a hot girl from the start. It really does depend on what you were born with.
