Of course it's the best Spider-Man movie, it barely has any competition. Spider-Man 2 is the only one that might have a chance of even coming close.

And I still found Homecoming to be somewhat disappointing. Still a good movie, but I guess I accidentally let my expectations get a little too high for it and I wound up not liking it as much as I thought I would.

Really solid movie. Tom Holland's an excellent Spider-Man and Vulture is easily the best MCU villain. Though, I suppose that's not a very tall task. I kinda wish it got more recognition than it did, but I guess that's what happens when it's the 6th Spider-Man movie in the past 20 years.

It's very good. Great characters, great action, great villain, great humour. All the best things that make the MCU good.

There are some gripes you can always come up with but when the movie is so high quality in so many ways you can't really hold any of them against it.

Spider-Man 2 is still pretty good! Jeff Zero and I watched the Maguire movies after we saw Homecoming since he had never seen them, and I still liked it.

Although I'm one of the rare ones who thinks the first movie is right up there with it.

I didnt see it coming at all. Im guessing thats why Liz was black too to try and throw you off. But that whole conversation and everything just felt so tense and then he straight up says "Does she know? Ok you can live" it was some good shit

But he wasn't super, he wasn't even a hero, and the movie was supposed to be called Iron Man Homecoming

He was super, by the definition of superhero. He had superpowers, or powers classified as beyond the scope of standard deviation of current human evolution.

The movie was never intended to be called Iron Man: Homecoming. It, in fact, focuses on the time period around Peter Parker's homecoming dance.

i don't think it's that rare of an opinion. i'd have to rewatch the two to remember exactly how they compared, but the first maguire spider-man was only the second superhero movie i really liked (after x-men)

but yeah, haven't polled the internet, and haven't been back to it recently to see how well it has aged

I loved the Maguire movies at the time and while they are still pretty good, I think they feel like an earlier era of superhero films along with the Xmen movies that don't quite hold up againat the last 10 years of superhero films.

Maguire himself kind of annoys me in the role now honestly. I loved him as a kid though.

They do hold up much better than most pre Dark Knight / Iron Man super hero films.
