argonautweakend 10/22/17 9:51:26 PM #1:	No baseball pedigree required though it can help in a way. SO HERE WE GO. ITS WORLD SERIES TIME. As the Dodgers and Astros square off in the real world series, I will be simulating a world series of our own in Out of the Park Baseball 17, a sandbox baseball management sim. The first challenge I did was to have people submit team names for me to simulate 100 years in a fictional league to see who won the most championships, and who had the highest winning percentage over 100 years. I forget who won unfortuantely, but it was the owner of the Baltimore Riots with both the most championships and highest winning percentage. They won a small amazon gift card. For the second series I am asking 16 lucky contestants to pick any team in major league baseball history that has won a world series as their "horse" in the race. If you know nothing about baseball but still want to enter, here is a list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_Series_champions You can pick defunct teams, and also other years for teams, meaning you could pick the 1924 Washington Senators, and you can also pick a different year for a team, so one person can have the 1998 Yankees, and somebody else can have the 1999 Yankees. There will be a short 30 game regular season serving as classification for the playoffs. This will be to determine seeding for the 16 team playoff, then in the playoff each series will be best of 7 knockout style to advance to the next round. It will be 16v1, 15v2 etc etc in the first round. Winner of it all wins a prize of a 15 dollar Amazon gift card! I may have other prizes as well for certain things but as of now the only assumed prize if the one amazon gift card for the world series winner. I have yet to determine what era the game will take place in, I will likely decide things like pitching rotation sizes and relief use myself but balance it to make it fair. The game was played differently in the early 1900s compared to the 1990s, despite being the smae fundamental game. argonautweakend 10/24/17 8:58:05 PM #40:	I did a preliminary run to see if this works and it does, but one thing i set the rotation sizes to 3, because teams in the early 1900s had pitchers who would go about 9 innings every game whereas today pitchers max out at 6 innings or so unless the are doing exceptionally well. old rotations were 2 pitchers in the early 1900s. today they are five. So i went through everything wondering where some of the awesome rotations went from the braves and phillies(95 and 08 both known for having killer rotations) and I think the game chopped a few players off the rosters. I'll need a workaround here and double check things but this shouldnt be an issue. just for reference the best team was the 27 yankees in the classification round, finishing 22-8! <cite>argonautweakend posted [p:889080296] in The 2nd Po...
