"Well then we already have the three man unit," you say. "Raven can be in the sky, Jinx and I will be on the ground."

"We should also make sure the four person units have equal numbers of eyes in the sky and on the ground," Robin says.

"We should probably also take terrain into account," you say as you bring out your phone.

You bring up the picture you took of the area in question, and use magic to draw on the projection.



"We are heading to the point within the red circle," you say. "It is a small mountain range, but even a small mountain will have slopes and jagged rocks, a lot of tree coverage, and possibly caves or plateaus."

"I should obviously cover the area within Russia," Red Star says.

"I'll cover the area within China" you say. "Moy russkiy ne ochen' khoroshiy, dnsh w de zhngwn hn ho."

"Well, you still said that in the proper grammar," Red Star smirks.

"Then I'll lead a group into Kazakhstan," Robin says. "We'll come in from the Russian side and split up. Cyborg, you stay with Red Star, Kole and Gnarrk to explore the less mountainous Russian side. Argent can join Starfire, Beast Boy and myself in the more mountainous Kazakhstan."

Everyone nods in agreement, Cyborg hands out copies of the sketch of Isabel.

"Titans, go!" Robin says.

The two T-Ships and Shadowfax take off, Jinx already riding with you while Raven flies overhead.

"You sure you can make it over the next body of water?" Raven asks.

"Oh yes, the Sea of Okhotsk is nothing compared to that stretch of the Pacific I covered," you say.

You reactivate the Levitation Drive and go over the water within this Okhotsk bay and make it to the mainland of Russia. You still have to drive for hundreds of kilometers, using country roads to weave your way from the coastal town of "Chumikan" and then finally coming upon a paved road, "P-297" near the town of "Ushumun."

P-297 brings you up and around a border Russia shares with China, through a town called "Never" and then Southwest through the city of "Chita".

"How long is this gonna take?" Jinx asks.

"Just shut up and wait," Raven says.

You make it around the Southern end of Lake Baikal and turn off onto country roads again at Slyudyanka.

"Wait, we're going towards mountains!" Jinx says.

"Don't worry," you say, "I've done something like this once before!"

"Once?! You've only driven on a mountain side once!? Wait, the fact you drove on a mountain side at all is concerning!"

You turn on Shadowfax's Gravity Drive, and his tires become enchanted to stay on any surface of the steep mountain slopes. You go up and along the rocky crevace, Jinx holding on out of fright, and make it over part of the Mongolian border. Once you're back on level land, you turn off the Gravity Drive and Jinx relaxes her grip.

You ride back onto a country road, and pass through a town called "Erzhey" before finding a paved road leading to "Kyzyl".

"So..." Jinx speaks up after some time. "What have you two been up to while I was away~...?"

Raven grumbles.

"If we'd known we'd be working with Titans North, I would've dumped you on Titans South," she says.

"Not a good idea," Jinx says. "I suck at Spanish."

"Since you asked," you say to Jinx, "Raven and I went on a little holiday to Hawaii."

"Oooh~," Jinx says. "Sun, sand, and skimpy swimsuits."

"I wore a one-piece," Raven defends.

"I was talking about Rorek," Jinx says. "European guys wear speedos, right?"

"Yes, but I'm British," you say. "I still wore trunks."

"Well I guess that'd be good enough," Jinx says. "Right, Raven?"

Raven grumbles again.

After some more time, you cross through Kyzyl to turn further Southwest through Chadan, Ak-Dovurak, and then back onto country and mountain roads to cross Kosh-Agach.

"Home stretch," you say into the communicators.

"Closest town to the border is called Belyashi," Red Star says. "We shall start our search there, working our way inward."

"We'll concentrate our search in the area closest to the border," Robin says. "If she came to that point through Kazakhstan, perhaps more people saw her as she moved through."

"Then we'll also stick close to the China-Kazakhstan border," you say. "She can't have gotten far from the central point given the terrain, we need to keep a tight net."

As everyone passes Belyashi, the green T-Ship hangs back and the orange T-Ship veers off West. You continue South and enter a new mountain range. The road you enter into China through is just a path in these mountains, so there is no border check.

You drive up and up, and reactivate the Gravity Drive just in case. You reach a snowy summit and then ride over to the other side, taking it easy as you go downhill now.

"It doesn't look like there's anyone living up here," Jinx says as she looks around at the various peaks and valleys.

"There should be lakes around here," you say. "There are bound to be people at least camping and fishing, we can ask if they've seen Isabel."

You drive further South, and spot Kanas Lake from atop a cliff.

"Is that the witch's name? 'Isabel'?" Jinx asks.

"Yes," you say. "Isabel Fortun. Though, there's a good chance that's not even her real name."

You drive down the road, and find a path leading to the lake.

"Wait, what's her connection to you?" Jinx asks.

You sigh.

"She's... essentially, my ex-girlfriend."

Jinx takes a long gasp.

"We're helping you hunt down your ex?" she asks, oddly excited. "No way! What'd she do that made you break up? I mean, other than turning out to be evil."

"She stabbed him in the shoulder with a dagger enchanted with Toxic magic," Raven says.

"Whoa. Yeah, I guess you'd have to break up with that."

You make it down from the mountain and alongside a riverbank. You follow the river to the lake and find people who are in fact fishing. They hear you coming up and are surprised when they see you. And probably not just you, but the three of you, with Raven flying and Jinx's pink hair. You stop a few meters away and put up Shadowfax's kickstand before walking over to the fishermen with Jinx and Raven.

"N ho xinshng," you say to the first fisherman in front of you. "W ky wn n yg wnt?"
(Translation: Hello, sir. May I ask you a question?)

"W m..." he says while considering. "W xing."
(Translation: Um... I suppose.)

You take out the printed sketches of Isabel.

"N yu knjin t ma?" as you show him the first one, with the longest hair. "T knng yu btng de tuf."
(Have you seen her? She may have different hair.)

You also show him the other sketches, and the man looks at them all as his fellow fishermen walk over.

"W miyu," he says; then he turns to his friends and asks, "Nmen yu miyu jingu zhge nrn?"
(I haven't. Have any of you seen this woman?)

Two others shake their heads no, but two react with recognition!

"Wmen kn do tle!" one says.
(We saw her!)

"Wmen kn do tle!" the other repeats rapidly while everyone reacts.

"So they have seen her?" Raven asks.

You nod quickly in confirmation.

"Nl?" you ask the men quickly. "Jsh?!"
(Where? When?!)

"Hli! Hli!" the first says. "Jntin zoshang."
(The river! The river! This morning.)

"This morning by the river," you say to Jinx and Raven. "But, wait. Where is she now?"

"T xinzi zi n'er?" you ask the men.

"Wmen b zhdo," the second says. "Wmen..."
(We don't know. We...)

The two look nervously at each other, blushing as they try to suppress smirks. Even their friends look at them suspiciously.

"W m..." the first man says. "Dng wmen kn do t sh... T zi xzo."
(Umm... When we saw her... she was bathing.)

The other three men suppress chuckles, you almost hang your head in shame.

"What'd he say?" Raven asks. "What'd he say?"

"T kn do wmen, wmen pole qli, cnku r zho," the second man says.
(She saw us, and we ran off, ashamed yet proud.)

"Ync, wmen miyu kn do t qle nl," the first man concludes.
(Therefore, we didn't see where she went.)

"H bin d dfng?" you ask.
(Where along the river?)

"Ynzhe hbi," the first man says, pointing to the broader. "W rnwi zh sh hli zuzhng chngwi ytio hli d dfng."
(North along that river. I think it was where it finally becomes one stream.)

"Xixi," you say with a quick bow.
(Thank you.)

"Back on the bike, Jinx," you say as you return to Shadowfax.

"Aren't we going to call for the others?" she asks as she straddles the seat.

"Yes, we'll call..." you grumble.

You open your communicator, still bound to Shadowfax's handlebars.

"Robin, Red Star, come in," you say.

"Rorek?" Red Star replies.

"Did you already find Isabel?" Robin asks.

"No, but we got directions to where she is," you say. "Fisherman spotted her along a river. Head for our location, but stay some ways back. She might run when she sees you coming. The three of us can better sneak up on her."

"Alright," Robin says. "We'll be right there."

You hang up and ride on alongside the bigger river, watching the delta come together into one, just as the man described. You keep looking on both sides for signs of a campsite. The road gets narrow, so you end up riding right on the water with the Levitation Drive.

"I'm sensing something up ahead," Raven says as she floats closer to the ground. "I think she's nearby."

You slow down and drive into the woods. You park Shadowfax and put up his kickstand.

"Stay here, boy," you tell him. "You're too loud for stealth."

"You talk to your motorcycle?" Jinx asks.

"He's no ordinary motorcycle," you say. "Where was this thing you sensed, Raven?"

"Just up ahead," she says. "I think there was a bend in the river, and the presence was right next to it."

"Then we can sneak up on it from behind through these trees," you say. "Watch where you step, though. There is still a lot about Isabel I don't know, she might be skilled at traps or sensory magic."

The three of you walk, Raven leading the way and Jinx bringing up the rear. In fact, she starts falling behind.

"Jinx, keep up," you whisper loudly.

"If you haven't noticed, these shoes aren't made for the wilderness and neither am I!" she retorts.

"Just hurry up," Raven retorts back.

Jinx watches where she walks as she quickly hopscotch skips to catch up with you.

You walk a bit further, and can just manage to see the river and a shore of pale slate through the trees.

"We're almost there," Raven says. "I can feel her being upset."

"Probably because those older men peeped her when she was bathing."

"What?" the two girls ask.

"Uh, n-nothing," you say; you didn't mean for that to slip out.

"Well, it's not whatever you just said," Raven says with a suspicious squint. "She's upset, but also ashamed. Or, disappointed. She feels she failed."

"To what? Stab Rorek somewhere worse?" Jinx says.

"It doesn't matter what she feels and why," you say. "I'm not going to allow her time to use the spells within the Magdalene Grimoire."

"Whoa, she has the Magdalene Grimoire?!" Jinx says. "Then why is she stuck out in the woods? She should've been able to do any number of things with that, the least of all, get money enough to stay somewhere nice."

"Maybe that's the reason for her disappointment and shame," Raven says as you three creep closer. "Now be quiet."

Jinx scowls as she starts walking on tip-toes.

As you approach, you get a clearer image of the shore. A small campfire burns brightly even in this mid-morning sun, with a bit of a haphazard spit-roast going over it to cook a medium-sized fish.

And tending to a tent of patched cloth, her black hair still thick but cut short and wrapped in a bun, wearing the same faded and torn jeans and loose blouse as the last time you saw her, is...

"Isabel..." you growl.

"Raven, to the let. Jinx, to the right. You two must cut off her escape routes through the river."

They nod, and Jinx tip-toes away while Raven uses her shadow form to move through the ground.

You keep your eyes on Isabel as the girls move into position. You glance over and see Jinx at the edge of the tree, shale and river. You look over, you can't see Raven, but you trust she's in the mirrored spot on that end.

"Now!" you shout at the top of your lungs.

Isabel whips around to face your direction, and at that same moment, Raven rushes out from the tree line to block the way down river with a large wing-like barrier. On Jinx's end, she uses her powers to break away some of the shale and cause Isabel's tent to collapse.

"Rorek!?" Isabel shouts when you step out into the light. "How did you find me?!"

"I'm surprised you didn't ask how I'm still alive," you say. "The Toxic Magic you left inside me was a part of it."

"Still alive?" she repeats. "I wasn't trying to kill you. I just needed you to stop being you so you'd leave me alone. Clearly that didn't work out in the end."

"Hand over the Magdalene Grimoire, Isabel," you say. "It's not yours."

"Says you and the Burgess Family," she spits back, teeth bared and eyes burning with anger. "The Burgess Family only came into possession of the book when they bartered it away from the Royal Museum. And where do you think the museum got the book?"

"They found it somewhere," you say.

"Yes, they found it on Cyprus," she says. "They took it from the ruins of a forgotten village. The village of my family!"

"Huh?" Jinx and Raven say.

"Your family?" you say. "I've never heard a thing about the Fortun Family, and my family is well-connected."

"Funny how history can so easily be made to forget," Isabel says with stinging sarcasm. "There was a time when the Fortun Family was just as rich and glamorous as you Nols, or Nulls, or however it's pronounced!"

"Oh great, she's some kind of evil Gypsy version of you!" Raven says.

"You sure moved on fast," Isabel smirks. "Two pretty little magical ."

"Ko-ritz-sya?" Jinx says. "Is that Greek?"

"I think it's the equivalent of 'chica' in Spanish," Raven says.

"Oh. Well, I suppose that's fine."

"Enough talk," you say. "Give over the grimoire now, Isabel."

" ," she says.
(Pronunciation: Dnkos meh; Translation: Bite me.)

You toss a magical charge at her.

"Inazuma!" you shout.

Isabel yelps as she guards against the lightning with a low-level barrier.

"I see you're capable of more than just poison," you say.

"And I'm wondering when you learned Eastern elemental magic," she retorts.

She brings out that same dagger she used on you all those months ago, and enchants it again with Toxic magic.

"I'll finish you this time," she says as the enchantment extends off the blade, as if growing the blade itself into more of a saber.

She rushes at you, poisonous sword ready to strike. She thrusts, you put up a barrier of your own. Her Toxic magic cracks it but you reinforce it with a second barrier. She backs off when her blade scratches and skips off the barriers, and you see her preparing something behind her back.

"Hold your positions," you tell Raven and Jinx as they step closer. "We need to keep her fenced in."

"Keep me fenced in?" Isabel repeats. "Hah! You will not stop the Fortun Family's resurrection!"

She makes the poison enchantment more like a whip now, and she lashes at Raven and Jinx in turn, sending surges of Toxic magic their way! Raven guards herself, you guard Jinx from a distance, but where Raven's barrier stays standing, yours cracks deeply.

"I'm your opponent, Isabel!" you shout as you bring water from the river over in a wave.

Isabel yelps again as she gets splashed and runs from the shore. You then fire Arcana Melleo and it hits her in the shoulder, knocking her for a roll on the shale.

"How cruel," Isabel laughs off. "After all those sweet stories about your family, and now you're picking on me?"

"Don't act like you cared," you say. "You were lying to me the entire time."

"Oh but I did care," Isabel says as she gets up. "I learned how your family was so coveted and sought after, while mine was buried like a dirty secret. You Nulls, and all those magical aristocrats that revolve around you like you're the Sun, you will all pay! The Fortun Family is still as strong as ever, and you'll all fall! ! (Tha psete loi!/You will ALL FALL!)"

Isabel finally presents what is behind her back, and it is...

"Light magic?!" you say. "How is that possible? You've been using Dark and Toxic magic this entire time!"

"That is the power for which the Fortun Family was denounced as heretics, heathens, and abominations!" she spits.

Abominations? The word suddenly sparks a memory, from your history books as a child. Families of Dark Magic may be "evil villains", but those who tried to use both were "obscene", "insane", and "abominations."

There were stories of families, clans and individuals who tried to become all-powerful by using both Light and Dark, being both good and evil yet neither, and it all ultimately led to their destruction. The names weren't even kept on record in the text you read, so perhaps the Fortuns were one of those families...

"Isabel, you can't!" you say. "Trying to merge Light and Dark within one vessel will tear you apart!"

" ! (Kne isycha!/Be quiet!)" she spits again. "You are just a coward! My family found a way, but you Families of Light feared of being overthrown, so you destroyed my family out of that fear!"

"Your family did that to themselves, out of greed and pride!" you shout back.

"I've got the book!" Jinx says as she pokes her head out of Isabel's fallen tent.

"?! (What?!)" Isabel blurts as she whips around to look at Jinx.

"Don't try anything," Jinx says as she holds the book out in front of her. "You wouldn't want anything unfortunate to happen to it, would you?"

"Hah!" you shout as you strike with Arcana Imbre!

Isabel shields herself again, her barrier barely holding you off.

"I'm bringing you in before you destroy yourself!" you shout between Imbre blasts.

"It's you who will be destroyed!" she shouts back.

You keep her defending with one hand while the other hand has the Light magic mana. If she's preoccupied, she can't combine magics.

"Stop resisting or I'm going to throw the book in the river!" Jinx threatens.

"Veni!" Isabel says in Latin.

A force tries to bring the book over to her, but Jinx holds on and digs in her heels.

"You're not getting this back that easy!" she says.

"Didn't I tell you I'm your opponent?!" you say as you create a Summoning circle.

With the circle, you summon a wolf and have it lunge at Isabel with fangs bared. She stabs it with her enchanted dagger, but the wolf keeps fighting, trying to reach her arm with its jaws. She rips the dagger out and the summoned wolf construct shatters like glass.

"Arcana Gemini, Imbre!" you shout as you use both hands.

Isabel guards as best she can, but with only one hand, you easily shatter her shield.

"Give it up," you say. "You won't win trying to mix such opposite magics. Being taken into custody is better than losing your life!"

Isabel slams her free hand on the ground and creates a huge dome of energy. You go at it with Gemini Imbre but the dome is surprisingly sturdy.

"Isabel, don't!" you say.

She brings Dark magic into her other hand now, and begins to bring her hands together.

"Lux, iustitia, pudicitiam," she begins to recite. "Tenebris, dolor, malum."

"Isabel!" you say again. "Stop!"

"Simul, unum, vinco!" she continues.

"No!" you shout.

The magics mix in a tulmultuous torrent between her hands! But she isn't done there, she brings it into her body through her chest, and the energies pulsate through her body so that she glows with both light and darkness...

"Screw it, I'm burning this," Jinx says.

Jinx then uses her fire elemental magic as you taught her, and sets the Magdalene Grimoire ablaze.

"That's not going to change what Isabel's done!" Raven says. "She likely learned this from the book, it isn't because of the book."

"Well whatever, still good to destroy it, right?" Jinx counters.

However, the flames go out, and the book is unharmed.

"What?!" Jinx says.

"|Fools!|" Isabel says, now in an otherworldly voice. "|I shall torture you for eternity as I bleed you dry, heal you, then bleed you again!|"

"That's a bit more evil than neutral..." Jinx says.

"Because there's no such thing as true neutral," you say as you prepare mana. "She has already been corrupted by her use of Dark Magic, she is only more evil now."

"| !|" Isabel shouts as she waves her hand at you.

You go flying back from pure force.

"Rorek!" Raven shouts in concern before you hit the ground. "You stupid cow!"

"| !|" Isabel spits back.
(Mgissa pornea!/Whore witch!)

"Did she just call you a magical pornstar?" Jinx asks.

"Not really important right now!" Raven growls while Jinx winks and sticks out her tongue.

Raven summons up quite a lot of magical power, and even Jinx prepares to strike with her bad luck powers.

You grab your communicator as Raven looms over Isabel.

"Titans," you say. "We need reinforcements. Isabel has activated powerful, dangerous magic. She'll be too much for even herself soon enough."

"On our way!" both Robin and Red Star reply.

You put your communicator away and prepare multiple magical charges. Raven swings her aura wings down at Isabel from either side.

"! (Foti!/Fire!)" Isabel shouts, retaliating with huge pillars of flame!

Raven backs off, shielding herself from the fire. Jinx uses her powers and creates cracks in the shale ground beneath Isabel. Isabel starts falling, but then keeps herself afloat with magic. Isabel turns and glares at Jinx, but you toss your three charges at Isabel.

"Kori!" you shout with the hand-sign.

*BRWSH* The charges explode with ice! The ice surrounds Isabel in a giant, amorphous block. However, Isabel thaws out with more of the fire.

Raven uses her magic to move more water and wash it over Isabel again. Isabel's fire is put out, and the ice combines to freeze the water as a new layer over her, but she keeps thawing herself out from within.

"We need to bury this witch!" Jinx says as she uses more of her power.

The hole she made in the shale opens more, to become a pit. The ice drags Isabel down like a weight, but she still stays in the air. Raven floats directly over Isabel and takes aim.

"Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos!" Raven shouts.

Raven's energy slams Isabel down into the pit! But then, fire erupts from the pit as Isabel blasts her way out. She floats back up to ground level, but you already have more magical charges prepared, and toss them at her again.

"Mizu!" you shout.

*BWOOSH* Two of the four charges explode with water, and Isabel is drenched for a third time.

"INAZUMA!" you shout, changing signs.

*BWZAP* The other charges explode with lightning!

Isabel screams as she is intensely electrified! The lightning stops, and Isabel falls back down the hole.

The T-Ships fly in now and land nearby.

"Where is she?" Robin asks.

"Rorek eletrocuted her into the pit," Jinx says as she points to said pit.

"The forbidden spell she used was going to kill her anyway," you say while Raven lands nearby.

"Dude," Beast Boy says. "That's harsh."

Suddenly, the ground rumbles, the pit as its epicenter! Cracks in the ground form, with steam and fire bursting through!

"Get clear!" you shout.

The shale becomes molten, and Isabel emerges from the hole again, gathering the lava into a giant sphere!

"DUDE!!" Beast Boy blurts out.

"Freeze the lava!" Robin shouts.

He throws discs, you throw magic charges.

"KORI!" you shout as Cyborg blasts the discs with his sonic cannon.

*BWOOMFF* Massive explosions of ice go after the lava, cooling a quarter of it, but the remaining three-quarters flows over for a still considerable amount.

"I thought you said she would loose control of her own self," Red Star says.

"Yes, but not before she's able to do untold amounts of damage!" you say. "We need to stop her before she can reach civilization."

"|You will not stop me in remodeling the world!|" Isabel booms as she winds up to throw the lava!

"Hit her with everything we've got!" you shout.

You feel your hair stand on end as you bring up an immense amount of mana. As you gather energy, Starfire, Cyborg, Red Star, Argent and Raven fire their various energies in forms of bolts, beams and flurries. Robin throws more explosive projectiles, uses her magic to try and cause problems within the lava. Kole, Gnarrk and Beast Boy have no weapons, so they create a bunker; Beast Boy digs as a wolf, Kole becomes crystal and acts as a shovel.

"Aracana Decimam!" you say. "GEMINI ACCUDO!!"

*FOOM* You fire two massive blasts of energy to add onto the onslaught headed for Isabel!

*BOOM BOMBOM BOOMBOOM BOOM BOOOOM*

The lava ball also collapses, and becomes a molten blob again atop where Isabel stood.

"Did that do it?" Kole asks.

Everyone stares intently at the settling lava.

"What's the ditch for?" Jinx asks Beast Boy, Kole and Gnarrk.

"For redirecting the lava, duh," Beast Boy says.

"She was going to throw it like a baseball, it wouldn't even hit here," Raven says.

*Blub blub* Bubbles from the lava?

With an even more unnatural shriek, Isabel emerges from the lava, her flesh burnt and melting but everything else below is held together by the Light and Dark magics swirling inside of her.

"Oh come on!" Cyborg says. "She couldn't possibly have survived all of that!"

"It is solely because of that forbidden magic," you say. "The Dark amplifies her body's strength to superhuman levels, and the Light heals her from within. The problem is, the Dark and the Light are also fighting each other for control."

"Which is why it'll only destroy her in the end," Robin surmises.

"|...|" Isabel wheezily groans.
(Kalopi/Die...)

"We already hit her with everything," Argent says. "How're we supposed to give more than everything?!"

"Well, I do have some tricks up my sleeve," you say. "I can try..."

"Plasma Element."

"What element?" the others ask.

"Wait," Beast Boy says, "didn't you say that was one of those legendary fusions or something?"

"Yes," you say. "I must combine my fire and lightning affinities and use what results to strike Isabel down."

"Have you even tried this before?" Raven asks with concern.

"Not on the scale I'm going to attempt," you say as you prepare fire element in one hand. "Everyone, stay behind me, and prepare to fight Isabel if this fails."

The others fall back to the trench, Raven lingers a moment to put a worried but encouraging hand on your shoulder. She then joins the others at the trench and prepares barriers.

"|...|" Isabel wheezily groans again as she sloshes through the lava.

Isabel prepares more magic in her hands, combining the Dark and the Light that already fills her body to the brim with her normal affinity for fire. In other words, she is creating Black Flame and Holy Flame magics, which are legendary elements in themselves.

You create lightning in your other hand now, and you bring your hands together. The elements flicker and dance before becoming one unified substance surging between your fingers.

"|...|" she wheezes.

She points at you with the Holy Flame hand and shoots a pillar of it at you. You are busy with your Elemental magic, but luckily Raven guards you with a shield. The flames lap around the edges but never touch you. Isabel stops with the Holy and switches to Black Flames, but Raven guards you again.

"These are so much stronger," Raven grunts as she puts more effort into her shield.

"Hold on!" Argent says.

With her red energy, Argent creates barriers to reinforce Raven's and keeping the Black Flames at bay.

"Rorek, hurry!" Raven shouts.

"Just a few more seconds!" you say as you increase the amount and refine the control.

Isabel stops with the Black Flames in order to attack with both! Raven and Argent keep their barriers up, and you complete the process!

"Now!" you shout.

The shields burst to disperse the flames!

"Enerug!!" you shout.

The Plasma Element fires from your hands and at Isabel! Straight through her chest!

"|...|" she says as the magic leaves her body. "...?"
(Ochi/No... Aptycha...?/I failed...?)

The flames go out and her body stops glowing as it falls to the ground.

The others are quiet, perhaps in stunned disbelief, as they come out from the trench. You meanwhile fall to your knees, and use your arms to keep yourself from falling completely over, but yours arms are so weak.

"Rorek..." Raven says with consolation as she kneels beside you.

"It was better this way," you say feebly. "She was going to die, and take all of us with her."

"I know," Raven says. "It's alright."

She wraps her arms around your shoulders, chin resting right on your shoulder.

"What do we do with her?" Jinx asks in reference to Isabel.

"Well..." Kole says, looking back behind her. "We did just dig a ditch..."

Everyone else is quiet, seemingly unsure what to do. You get up, Raven helping you to your feet. She also helps you walk over to where Isabel fell.

You look down upon Isabel's charred corpse, half healed and half decayed from the chaotic reaction within her cells. You also look into the hole you made where her heart was. You don't feel tears well up or a catch in your throat. Is it because of the effect her Toxic magic had on you while it was in your shoulder? Or is it because you truly accepted she was an enemy, and that the Isabel you loved wasn't real?

You carefully lift Isabel with your magic, but you used a lot of mana fighting her. You start to struggle with holding her up, but Raven helps you with her own magic. Together, the two of you bring Isabel's body over to the ditch. You gently place her inside, and then fill the ditch back up.

"I'm sorry, Isabel," you say. "I have no idea what the real you went through. But I'm sorry that it all drove you to do this. I hope you believe me when I say that I didn't want to do this this way. But you were going to die. If the magic had ran its course, you would've die, your soul completely eradicated. At least now, you won't be lost on the other side."

Raven holds your hand. You now feel a bit of something in your throat, but you can't be sure what it is. Raven perhaps has a better idea with her Empathy, as she squeezes your hand and rests her head on your shoulder again.

"We should probably head home," Red Star says. "There is a good chance people will come investigating the disturbance."

"Yes, we should go," you say.

You then whistle, and Shadowfax drives himself out of the woods and over to you.

"Are you okay to drive?" Raven asks as you mount your motorcycle.

"I should be," you say.

She puts her hands on your hands.

"You used a lot of mana," she says. "We can wait until you've recovered."

"No, it's as Red Star said," you say. "We should clear out, who knows who will come looking."

"Well, let's hook Shadowfax back up then," Cyborg says as he gets back in the orange T-Ship.

The clamp comes back out, and you coast Shadowfax up into it.

"Here," Jinx says as she brings the grimoire over to you. "You guys should try and figure out what to do with this."

"Thank you, Jinx," you say as you take the book.

Jinx then gives you a quick hug before joining the Titans North in their T-Ship.

You hop inside the middle pod with Beast Boy becoming a green mouse to ride inside with you.

"Until next time, Titans West," Red Star says as Titans North climbs aboard their green T-Ship.

Everyone waves bye, and the two T-Ships take off.

You recline back in the chair as the Orange T-Ship heads Southeast and reaches the Pacific.

While the T-Ship flies over the waves, Beast Boy fidgets and grooms himself, as any mouse would.

"What do you think, Beast Boy?" you ask him. "Was there anything else I could've done?"

You're pretty sure you see him shrug.

"I'm sure if my battle strategy was different," you say, "I could've kept her from combining Light and Dark."

Mouse Beast Boy looks quizzical, as if he isn't so sure that would've changed anything.

"Well, there's a chance," you say. "I could've struck with more urgency. I let her have too much time while we were just talking it out."

Mouse Beast Boy shakes his head "no."

"What do you mean, 'no'?" you say. "She doesn't use the forbidden spell, she doesn't put herself on the path to self-destruction."

Mouse Beast Boy looks very annoyed, and then he suddenly transforms back into Human Beast Boy!

"Look, dude," he says as he's in your face, mostly because there's no room for anything else. "It's not your fault she wanted to do that. And you probably couldn't stop her from doing that at all, like, ever, and certainly not forever. She did it today, she would've tried it if we'd caught her and put her in jail, and she would've probably just tried it in jail! And it's like you said, it was better that you and the rest of us stopped her from wrecking entire cities. So don't regret what happened, alright?"

He then changes back into a mouse, and you're quiet a moment.

"You're right," you say with a nod. "I don't know why I'm thinking of this now."

"Hey, uh," Raven says over intercom. "What were you two talking about over there?"

You look over to starboard and see her in her pod. You then look and find the headset. You put it on and speak into the mic.

"Nothing, really," you say. "Just... what we'll have for dinner. I was thinking..."

"Chinese."

"Yeah, sounds good," she says. "We can get some on the way home."

"Where should we go?" Cyborg says, joining the conversation. "Since Rorek knows Chinese, we could probably get the genuine stuff from China Town."

"I suppose that wouldn't be too bad," you say.

"Then China Town's Imperial Palace it is!" Cyborg says.

The T-Ship goes even faster now, and you see the coast up ahead. You return to Jump City and land on Titans Island. You go back to Shadowfax and unhook him from the clamp before the T-Ship returns to its hangar.

"Let's ride to China Town," Raven says as she hops on Shadowfax with you.

"Well alright," you say. "And don't worry, Beast Boy, I'll be sure to get plenty of white rice and vegetarian egg rolls."

"Thank you," Beast Boy says.

You and Raven ride across the water and she directs you to Jump City China Town. You pass by the Maroon Rooster tea shop and find your way to the Imperial Palace. You pull up into a parking spot off to the side and let Shadowfax stand himself up before going inside.

"Hello, welcome to Imperial Palace," the woman at the open register greets. "How may I take your order?"

"N ho," you greet back to her surprise. "Ky gi w sn fn fn ma, sn fn j de dngdn, sn fn mintio, h sn g dn jun."

"Dngrn sh," she replies with a nod as she types up the price. "Shnme yng de jru?"

"Hngsho jru."

"Shnme yng de dn jun?" she also asks.

"Ling g ru, yg shci."

"Lioji. N qin de $26.69."

You hand over $30 in forms of ten dollar bills, she hands you your $3.31 and receipt.

"Qng dng yxi zi zhl," she says as she directs you to the side.

"Xixi," you say with a nod as you and Raven move out of the way.

"So what're we getting?" Raven asks.

"Three orders of white rice, three orders of Teriyaki chicken, three orders of noodles, and three orders of egg rolls, two as meat and one as vegetarian."

"Okay," she nods.

You watch as customers here before you receive their orders, and customers here after you give theirs.

"Order 53," the man putting items in bags calls. "Order 53."

"That's us," you say. "Xixi."

"Bi kq," he says as he hands over the order.

You and Raven take the bags and exit the restaurant. You go back to Shadowfax and Raven holds all the bags while you drive.

"We've returned with food from the Imperial Palace," you say as you and Raven return to Ops.

The others voice their delight from the couch. You and Raven sit down and set out the food.

"Now that we're back and the day is pretty much over," Raven says, "what do you have planned for tomorrow?"

"Well, we have one week before you and I leave for London," you say.
