In terms of pacing, yes.
However, they cut out so much material that watching the episodes feels a lot more jarring. Animation and art quality in DBZ varied from episode to episode. Kai combines multiple episodes into one, so you see animation and art styles change throughout a single episode. This can be very disorienting. Honestly, if you want a true to the manga version of DBZ, just read the manga ffs --- Proud 21 year old virgin! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I don't know but the recent episodes of kai (Buu saga) feels like it's going at a snail pace where barely anything happens per episode

I remember reading that the DBZ Kai: Final Chapters (Buu Saga) wasn't done that well and still left a lot of filler in.
So for that part I'd say just watch the original, since atleast you get Faulconer's soundtrack with it... ... Copied to Clipboard!

I was going to watch it dubbed regardless. It's one of the only anime that has become so intrinsically linked with its English voice track that it's impossible to go back (and Goku being voiced by a woman in Japanese past his childhood is annoying too...).
