Sometimes I regret moving from Canada to the US. I had a lot of friends and had my sister. Now Im just home doing nothing on a Friday. Pretty much dont do much of anything every weekend. Its hard making new friends in your 30s. Everybody has their spouses and kids and their own circle of friends. My health hasnt been the best either, so its not like I can join a gym or a hiking group or something.

One can only play games and watch TV for so long without craving some kind of interaction. Someone cheer me up please :(

Do you have any new friends? When I moved to a new place I NEVER met anyone knew. I mean as an adult it is hard. But I know there are things like meet up web sites were people get together and do fun stuff. Since it is a group it should be safer.

Not really. Like you said, its hard as an adult. I mean, Im close with my coworkers but they have they own circle of friends, etc.

I made some girl friends a few years back but they dropped me for jealousy reasons. Girls here are different than where Im from. They often just want to talk about celebrity gossip and the new car their Chad is driving.

Yeah he used to want to do fun stuff. Probably just to impress me. I discovered he was a total shut in after I had moved thousands of miles. And then slowly over time just got worse.

Id rather not say, dont like putting too many details of myself out there. How did you meet your friends?

My hobbies are cooking/baking, games, reading, hiking (before my health went to shit), and just having coffee with my girlfriends, which is a weird concept to girls here.

whenever I'm bored and don't have anything to do for an evening, I'll usually go to the Y and shoot for hours. Sometimes enough random people will come in and we can get a pick up game going, but that's usually not very good cause most of the time the people suck lol
But obviously not now cause it's 1am (dunno what time zone you are)
But it's mostly nice to just chill and shoot with headphones in, it's pretty relaxing. Maybe find your outlet when your bored like that is for me? Mine is a pretty good way to meet people too, people always coming in and out of the Y

All the booze are in my cabinets. I have 3 or 4 different bottles of whiskey, some fireball, tequila, vodka, rum and Kahlua (for my coffee). I can get you whatever you want. Havent had an oops moment so far either. So you better look nice for me babe or Ill make you get a job at McDonalds.

That's sad but I guess it's true for a lot of people who have been in long-term relationships. Everyone tries so hard to impress and make things memorable in the beginning, they really showcase the best possible versions of themselves. Then, over time they.. just sort of let themselves go and start going through the motions. I don't feel so bad about not having been in a relationship for more than a year or so when I take a look at some of the people around me. I guess it's hard to make the magic last.

It's even worse for you since you basically uprooted your entire life for someone to have it end up like this.

Yeah I rarely can convince him to play any games with me. Other than WoW which he likes to play but then never waits for me to do anything. Hell just run off and do his own thing every time. We used to go hiking together and hed walk about 20 feet in front of me because he walks faster. So I stopped wanting to go with him.

I like playing adventure or rpgs. I like Mario games too. At least Odyssey will be out in a week. Im not able to buy too many games without getting an earful about wasting money.

Damn, now I'm feeling bad myself. I myself am pretty much a shut in (school/work ---> home, repeat), who walks fast, who likes to go off on my own in games. Honestly, I wonder how I could balance that with someone else without driving myself insane and being selfless.

Are you into the mainstream adventure rpgs? Like Bethesda stuff, Souls games, non-WoW MMOs, etc. And it doesn't seem like anyone could hate a good expansive 3d mario game :p

Do you and your husband have a budget issue or something? I can't imagine being so stingy with money if you're both working or something. Everyone needs to treat themselves every month or two at the very least.

No real budget issue. We dont have any debt other than our mortgage. But hes always been financially insecure. He grew up in poverty (literally going days with barely anything to eat) so I think hes paranoid about money. I paint my own nails to save money, I only get my hair done twice a year, and I also buy clothes only when theres a big sale and maybe twice a year. I rarely buy games. And hell still complain that I spend too much money.

But yeah Id be down to play with peeps here.
