To the surprise of absolutely no one, the upcoming disaster flick Geostorm is a really bad movie. In its defense, the film never pretended to be anything other than what it is an excuse to blow things up and watch Gerard Butler do Gerard Butler-y things but nevertheless, critics are taking to it exactly as youd expect they would. What may go down as the most ill-timed movie ever, Geostorm is finally making its way into theaters in the wake of a trio of devastating hurricanes that ravaged the United States and her territories. Understandably, the target audience isnt exactly in the mood to see more of natures wrath.

I thought it was another SyFy original movie when I first saw the commercial. Then it said it was going to be in theaters. O_o

You mean to tell me that there were actually people who thought it would be good?

I've heard snowman isn't really that scary, rather suspense/intrigue. I haven't seen it though. I've also heard that it is trash, but what I said still applies.

I'm not sure why, but there are people out there who have boners over disaster movie cgi fests. Never been a fan of them myself.

Yeah probably but I'm also a big baby with gore, so mostly it's just how much the torture scenes are really apart of the movie.

Saw this movie with family earlier and I remember more about talking to the only other person in the theater about the Weinstein scandal before hand.

On the other hand Only the Brave is showing concurrently in two theaters because one of the firefighters was from nearby.

unlike snowman with 28%(audience ) 10%

Disaster movies don't really do it for me anymore, but they can be decent if they focus on the disasters well. This one seemed like it had some sort of government coverup/plot thing going on with it though which was an additional turnoff for me.

I'd say Snowman. Unlike the other two, people actually expected it to be decent.

Based on the trailers, Geostorm looks dumb, but it could maybe be one of those so bad it's good movies. The Snowman, on the other hand, looks boring and generic. Even the voiceover clips in the trailers sounded bored.

The CGI in the trailers didn't even look that good for a movie relying entirely on mindless action sequences.

Geostorm's Opening Won't Even Cover Reshoots

Geostorm is expected to earn in the range of $10-12 million in its opening weekend, a terrible start for a film that cost $120 million to make. Even a full $12 million wouldnt cover its extensive reshoots, which alone cost a reported $15 million.
