At some point I expect to wake up and discover that none of this season has actually happened because I cannot believe this is essentially the same Magic team I have watched play trash for the last few years

Like this is what I expected out of these players a few years back when I was full of hope. But that kinda disappeared after watching them underperform for so long

EDIT: We're 19 up on the Spurs at the start of the second which is why I mention it

yeah, they might make the playoffs. I don't think any team has surpassed expectations quite like the magic. Vucevic and Gordon turning into deep threats has really helped them.

Well they are actually hustling on D which has something we never did before. I don't have stats to hand but I am sure that every defensive stat is up and I'd guess blocks and steals by a lot

Not being hapless at scoring is definitely a huge factor though. Gordon, Fournier and Vucevic all playing way better than in recent years.

Our off-season incoming were Isaac, Simmons, Mack, Affalo, Speights, Payne, Birch, Iwundu. But only first 3 are seeing playing time. The starting 5 is the same as last year (well Payton is injured)

We're up by 25 now (54-29)

Adams has stepped up so far, but right now we have the anti spurs look going, where we are set up strong for playoff basketball but the nightly grind of the regular season is going to be annoying

kanter had 10 1Q rebounds against the celtics lmao. kept the game really close at the time.

guy can't defend in space, but put him in the right matchups, and you won't lose points while he's on the floor.

KAT looked a lot better and I guess Butler, despite not being the numbers leader, is necessary for us. Very necessary. I like Wiggins but if you rely on him to be the leader we're not gonna be a good spot.
