1. Ben Aflec

"Ben? Good news for you: You don't even have to leave the house in order to condemn this kind of behavior in your industry. Just go to the dinner table and ask your brother, Casey Affleck, about it. Or, better yet, Argo look at yourself in a goddamn mirror "

2. Matt Damon

Matt Damon's interview with Deadline Hollywood has come under fire for his insistence that he could've stopped all these assaultsif he'd only known about them.

Aside from the cringe-worthy egotism of Jason Bourne's Matt Damon's mentality, Damon went on to claim that men "have to be vigilant and we have to help protect and call this stuff out because we have our sisters and our daughters and our mothers."

PSA to all men, straight, gay, innocent, or criminal: The reason women shouldn't be raped is not because they are your sister or daughter. They shouldn't be raped because they are people.

3. Geraldo Rivera

#Weinstein a pig-Now any women-making any allegation of harassment vs celeb-however old or uncorroborated-gets near unrebuttable presumption

To paraphrase the logic behind what's being said by Geraldo Riveraa walking mouthbreather whose most notable claim to fame is a trademark mustache that screams "compensating" (also, "FREE ME!")it seems he's thinking: "Sure, Weinstein's gross. But now that his decades-long reign of sexual terror is no longer an industry secret, any woman can go around crying rape and actually (dear god) be believed. The real victims here are clearly creepy dudes who now have to be careful about the way they act around women!"

4.
DKNY fashion designer Donna Karan seems hellbent on knowing what Harvey Weinstein's victims did to deserve their abuse:

I think we have to look at ourselves.. how do we display ourselves? How do we present ourselves as women? What are we asking? Are we asking for it by presenting all the sensuality and all the sexuality? And what are we throwing out to our children today about how to dance and how to perform and what to wear? How much should they show?

Yes, finally the group that counts among its current members Roman Polanski, Bill Cosby and Mel Gibson has found the one guy who treated women badly and kicked him out, Oliver said. So congratulations, Hollywood. See you at the next Oscars where and this is true Casey Affleck will be presenting Best Actress.

https://www.salon.com/2017/10/15/when-liberal-men-mistreat-women-its-not-just-harvey/

We've heard the words "phony liberal" tossed around a lot throughout the years. Most recently, during the 2016 presidential election, we heard Bernie Sanders supporters use that phrase against backers of Hillary Clinton (and sometimes vice versa).

Yet if there is one example of a phony liberal that no one can dispute, it would be Harvey Weinstein.

Just take a look at this recent passage from the Washington Post:

Film executive Harvey Weinstein funded a gender studies professorship in Gloria Steinems name, attended the Womens March, campaigned for the first female presidential nominee by a major party and produced a documentary about sexual assault.

One aspect of this issue that needs to be addressed, though, is just how a liberal like Weinstein can on the one hand profess a strong belief in women's rights while at the same time behaving like an apparent sexual predator.

Cue Psychology Today's description of "cognitive dissonance":

If you've ever told a lie and felt uncomfortable because you see yourself as scrupulously honest, then you've experienced cognitive dissonance. It occurs when your ideas, beliefs, or behaviors contradict each other ...

While Weinstein is an example of an extreme case of cognitive dissonance the gender equivalent of an advocate of racial equality who secretly belonged to the Klan he is still symptomatic of a larger problem.

As an undergraduate student at Bard College in the mid-2000s when that school was widely regarded as one of the most progressive in the country I would regularly see men who preached feminist values by day act like creeps ... or worse.

Probably felt the heat was too much for his comment so he chickened out and deleted it.

Like whenever an actor makes a comment about Jews, and then backtracks with an apology, because Hollywood backlash.

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/magazines/panache/ben-affleck-apologises-to-hilarie-burton-for-acting-inappropriately/articleshow/61054408.cms

LOS ANGELES: Hollywood star Ben Affleck has apologised for an incident in 2003 in which he "acted inappropriately" towards actress Hilarie Burton.

Burton claimed Affleck, 45, groped her when she was a host of MTV's TRL in 2003.

"I acted inappropriately toward Ms Burton and I sincerely apologise," Affleck tweeted.

She's joking around in the video of the incident. It's presented as comedy(obviously it isn't funny) and knowing what those kind of trashy shows are like, likely something that was planned.

Quite possible that she's changed her tune now based on the current climate and is deliberately painting the incident in a different light.

Just because Affleck apologized doesn't mean he's guilty.

The moment a man paints himself as a feminist is the moment I assume he has some history of sexual harassing women and is trying to hide it under a facade of false virtue. It's like when conservatives bang the anti-gay drum but turn out to be sucking dick on the side.

Yeah. He even explained his side of the story when he was accused of defending him. The journalist he called backed him up.

this seems unnecessary and ultra-pedantic on part of the writer

i think right now a certain subset of writers will not really accept anything any man has to say on the subject, even if it is genuinely supportive and coming from someone who is not being hypocritical

which is fine and all, their free speech but they're not really going to get much for their effort

Liberals should be getting extra flak when this kind of stuff is exposed. Theyre the ones who created and promote rape hysteria culture, exaggerating things like how 1 in 4 women are raped and how all drunk sex is rape (i.e. the man is always the rapist in that case). So when actual, legitimate rape takes place for decades and they said nothing about it despite virtue signaling on this issue all that time they deserve all the shit theyre getting.
