A couple of times actually. Lol but I remember this one vindictive moderator who said that he was going to undo the moderation, restore the deleted topic, but keep it locked. Can you say spiteful much XD ?

Really shows how this dump is just basically a bunch of basement dwellers and the mods are the kind who let a teensy bit of (non)power go to their heads.

seems a common thing, they didn't even restore the deleted post in my case.

The only time I contested a moderation I was threatened with legal action, which was ridiculous.

Obviously nothing came of it.

Nope, even after being here for over 15 years, and across two similarly aged accounts, I have never once had a moderation overturned in any capacity on either one of them.

After a while I just started to pretend the "contest moderation" button doesn't exist because it's effectively useless, and I take anyone else's claims of successful overturns with suspicion.

I once wrote Strawu Hatu in reference to how a Japanese would say Straw Hat in English and got modded for it. Five days later an administrator overturned it saying it was a ludacris moderation. This was the only time.

I was a mod for 4 years. And I meant overturning moderations that I had made the decision on. Most were upheld but I did overturn some.

All the time before they gave mods greater latitude to do whatever the fuck they want. Nowadays, the overturns are few and far between and you need to waste an appeal just to ask what you allegedly did wrong.

I got one overturned (out of I think four total), though it was no karma loss. Specifically, it was moderated for "spoiler with no warning." I can't actually remember what series it was about, but I argued that what I wrote was vague enough that it wouldn't qualify as a spoiler, and it got overturned and restored.

No, never. Not even once, no matter how in the wrong the moderator was, they never admit fault and always find some way to twist things around, even if it means making up their own rules on the spot.

I have 7237 karma.

i got banned, on this account, with around 700. This was fall 2002. Something about a board invasion or something. It was p bogus imo. I made a remark about how some users on one board should post on another. The post was like a month old when it got marked too.

I appealed it. I emailed Ceej and he lifted the ban -- he even wrote me back. It was cool. I've never had a normal modded message ever overturned though.

Once, if you want to call it that. It was a new moderator that was working on the day that we were finally able to say words like shit, fuck, etc. uncensored and CE was having a field day with it. He accidentally marked it for being offensive, but immediately overturned it and apologized to me.
