Friday the 13th: Part II -- Jason Voorhees wears a bag over his head, his uncovered head has hair, he moves at a fast pace, he has a defined motive for killing, he fears pain, and his strength is just beyond human reach.

Friday the 13th: Part III -- Jason Voorhees wears a hockey mask, he's bald under the mask, he moves slowly, he has no motive, he doesn't react to pain, and his strength is absolutely superhuman.

Heck, if you go back to the first film, he appeared only as a zombie child in a dream sequence.

The reason I bring this up is because Friday the 13th was originally meant to be an anthology series of unrelated events taking place on Friday the 13th, but it proved unable to move away from Jason Voorhees when they wanted a new antagonist. Had the killers in the second and third movies been separate characters, they would have been able to move on from having Jason as the bad guy of every film.

I'm not sure if that would have been for the best or not though because Jason is a classic character and it's hard to imagine the series without him.

I just saw the Cinema sins for 13th 2. And just realized that I have never seen that one. It was really odd, comparing it to the rest.

I didn't know about the anthology thing. Same thing happened with Halloween.

I haven't seen the Cinema Sins video, but Part 2 is my favorite of the series. He's actually scarier when he's a frightened child lashing out at the people whom he thinks killed his mother. It just seems more human that way.

Not exactly. He rises from the dead a few seconds just before the end of the movie but he doesn't do anything. It's a tease for the 2nd movie.

Actually in part 5, it is not even Jason but some dude, therefore, there are technically 3 killers.

Isn't it just a few bubbles rising to the surface? The implication is there, but I don't remember actually seeing him.

It would have been 4 had the sixth movie not relegated Part 5's ending to being a dream sequence.

IIRC you see his hand breach the lake.
