Current Events > Thinking about getting a console. Xbox or PS4?

It's been years since I've owned a modern console. I used to have a launch 360 but it died a couple years back. I've been out of the game ever since, but lately I've had an impulsive itch to jump back in.

I think I still have some 360 games in storage, but only a few of them are, erm, legitimate, so I'm going to be building my library from scratch either way.

personally, I'd go with the PS4, but from what I hear, the One's backwards compatibility is pretty dope, and I think it'll start having original Xbox games, too

PS4. I'm a fan of both, but there's no question anymore. PS4. Xbox just ain't got nothing to offer compared to PS4.

You should realistic be buying the console for the games. If the games aren't pushing you to make a decisive decision, then that's not a good thing. :/

1. It's cheaper than PS4 in most places
2. Games with Gold is pretty bad ass (I think 6 free games a month)
3. Backwards compatibility to 360 is solid. Definitely expands your library to classic favs.
4. Xbox One X will be more powerful (both GPU and CPU) than anything for PS4 at the moment (if that matters to you)
5. Personally I think the PS controller style is awful

Depends on what games you like and what you have.

If you have a PC, go PS4.

If you like fighting games, go PS4.

JRPGs -> PS4.

If you have a bunch of backwards compatible games that you still wanna play, go XBone.

If you don't have a PC and really care about microsoft exclusives, go XBone.

I think PS4 is the better console simply because of the game library.

Wouldn't an Xbox be a better choice because your PC and Xbox can interact and be linked?

Ex: I can play my Xbox on my PC.

You can remote play with PS4 as well. PS4 is a better choice for PC owners because the great majority of games that are on XBone (but not on PS4) are also on PC. Whereas a lot of games (mostly japanese) that are only on PS4 are not on PC.

It all depends on what games you are into, but PS4 is the safer choices because it has more to choose from. a lot more. all the xbox one "exclusives" worth playing can also be played on windows 10.
