I still think games are comparatively cheap nowadays. According to the CPI, prices levels are 42.2% higher today than they were in 2000. That means a $60 game from then would cost over $85 today if games had followed the normal amount of inflation. If you factor in higher costs of production, you could probably even see prices pushing close to $100 on average.

yeah it's the same complaints DLC has always gotten. I buy a lot of DLC (after the price goes down) and I'd say the majority of it does not seem like stuff that was simply cut out of a game just to sell it. Most of it would seem out of place.
Still, buying a "complete" or gold edition of a game at $100 is still equivalent (economically) to buying any SNES or N64 game back them, which got you a tenth of the content. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Microtransactions themselves are not bad, they make up for the fact that games still have a rather standardized price of 60 dollars.
