Do you think the rule should change where students should be forced to pledge allegiance to America everyday?

17 y/o India Landry from Houston, Texas was SUSPENDED from Winfern High School because she REFUSED to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and is now SUING the school!!

She was sent home for refusing to stand for the pledge even though she sat through it hundreds of times previously since the 9th grade, calling it a protest against "police brutality" and "Donald Trump being president"

She said "They said you are kicked out of here. The other woman said this isn't the NFL, you won't do this here"

The public school district did not comment on what happened but said "A student will not be removed from campus for refusing to stand for the pledge. We will address this situation internally"

The law says the administration has been "whipped into a frenzy" since the NFL protests causing players to kneel and whacko patriotic teachers are getting upset over their own students protesting

India's mother, Kizzy Landry said she was called to pick up her daughter and said "I never been to a school where i was called to come get my chld and no one would talk to me about what's going on"

India has no plans to stand in the future and said "I don't think that the flag is what it says it's for, for liberty and justice and all that. It's not obviously what's going on in America today"

As the law states, it is not enforceable or a school to make a student stand for the pledge of allegiance

Do you think the rule should change where Students should be forced to pledge their allegiance to their country everyday? let's see what people will vote.

Also this situation is just weird. When I was in high school I cant think of one situation where you had to stand for the pledge period... hell I generally didnt arrive for homeroom half the time I was a lowerclassman and when I was an upperclassman I dont recall homeroom even being a thing... I just went straight to period 1

She was in 9th grade when Trump was elected? Interesting.

Making it mandatory would only create even more of a need to protest. Also it's not even real allegiance if people only do it because they have to.

Given that she acts like an idiot, I'm not sure school was going to do that much for her in the first place.

She was in 9th grade when Trump was elected? Interesting.

Black Lives Matter really became popular in August 2014, after the Michael Brown murder, probably right around the time she started high school. The timing makes sense. She didn't say it was just about Trump.
