Just look for any accredited school that has online courses. SNHU or Kaplan for example.

Most community colleges offer several full courses online. Employers will take those.

I was curious if things like nanodegrees were recognised by some employers or if it was a scam to get money.

A nanodegree is only useful as long as the industry is in high demand of that specific skillset. Otherwise it's a waste of time and you would be better off getting a full degree.

Well... I have a project that can count as an intership at college if I can't get paid, but if I want to learn specific skillsets that I do not know yet, will I be taken seriously?

It really depends on the field.

I already know some, although I am getting fed up with trying to find a job as they all ask for 5 years of experience where I live.

Show proof of understanding of the subject. Use your experience to create an example. Make something impressive, they won't care about 5 years or not.

Edit : I have done this more than once with success.

I got 3 interviews so far and they seemed to care more about what I did outside of school.

theres a lot of coding and database stuff thats useful no matter the vendor. there is a microsoft technology bias obviously but its not like thats a bad thing, especially considering you want to look good for employers

School is a rigid, structured environment. It doesn't prove your ability to solve problems, think creatively, or adapt to changing technology. When I got my A+ certification, I found out almost immediately that it was already outdated. I couldn't get work. I started repairing RROD Xbox 360s in my home. I found multiple flaws in the architecture, and developed a method that corrected almost all of them. I mentioned that in an interview, and when asked to explain, the interviewer was extremely impressed. I got the job, that on paper, I was not qualified for, and moved into upper management within a year. When the company was bought out two years after I started, I received a six-figure severance package.

Use what you know, update your skillset, there are free options, literally millions of YouTube videos alone, not to mention other free sources, design and create something. Show it off in an interview. This works, but not every time.

Thank you for the advice, I'll try to learn the valuable skills I can for the industries. I may struggle a little, but I can do it. Even though I am starting to be fed off with it, I'll do my best.
