Yokai Watch 2 hold the record for most sold game in Japan for serveral months.

I still haven't hype for it over here. I watched the show. it's cute. i like it, because it mostly short stories.

Why is it in Final Fantasy 14 beats me? I just wonder how much Level 5 paid square enix to have a game event in FF14

I hope it does well over overseas but we don't view spirits and deities like they do, so they come off kind of cheesy.

monster hunter stories is a way better pokemon game than yokai watch. but yokai watch has some cool feature like exploring japan. Both feel like you're playing anime tv show.

It could have been, but collecting the yokai is ridiculous. Throw food at the spirit and hope that one spirit like it, and i hope you throw it at the right spirit, because it's random where it's thrown. The RNG is worse than any shin megaten game and there is a lot of bull shit in shin megaten games.

I don't like the self-contained micro-story approach (and lack of an overarching conflict), although the cat and his transformations are great.

Just like how Nintendo kept trying to push Tingle, despite us Western fans of the Zelda franchise disliking that guy in general. The point here is that Japanese companies will push Japanese trends, because they're more concerned with the Japanese market.
