very short season. if we have to wait an entire year, we should get as many episodes as they give to shows like Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, American Dad and Family Guy. those get like 20 episodes a season.

and it looks like Evil Morty isn't involved in this episode. which means nothing more will happen with that story til at least a year

There's only ever like 1 or 2 plot episodes per season, and we've already got 2 this time. Evil Morty won't come up, and don't be surprised if there aren't other overarching plot advancements.

idk, last season's finale was huge for the plot. It wouldn't surprise me if the preview was a fakeout and something happened.

At the very least I think either Beth & Jerry will get back together, "Beth" will be revealed to be a clone, or we'll get some big cliffhanger like last season's. I'm not sure if they'll do just another episode with a lot of plot threads out there.

Never seen it. Kind of has hype by the same people that hyped up adventure time and I'm not falling for it again and watching some kids show.

Morty is constantly changing as a person (this episode especially you can see how mouthy and confident he's gotten), Beth being a clone or not is still ambiguous, and you know, Evil Morty is a thing.

It was fine as a season finale. Like the season 1 finale, it was just a good episode that worked in a tiny bit of character progression as well.

Yes, but the Season 1 finale had no expectations. Season 3 had a huge buildup with Evil Morty and the finale didn't deliver.

I'm pretty disappointed. It's honestly annoying because they knew what they were doing. We all expected a confrontation with Evil Morty, because Evil Morty became president and this episode was described as Rick encounters the president. Maybe they're so nihilist that they want to show that even their main plotline doesn't matter.

I agree, and I'm frustrated by that, especially who knows when we'll get season 4. Maybe we'll get it next year, maybe not until 2019. :/ I read somewhere this season was cut short and was originally 14 episodes?

I agree, and I'm frustrated by that, especially who knows when we'll get season 4. Maybe we'll get it next year, maybe not until 2019. :/ I read somewhere this season was cut short and was originally 14 episodes?

Honestly, with how lackluster this season was - In fine with them cancelling it.

I really doubt the season was cut short at all. It was the same length as the other two seasons (minus the pilot in S1 which was attached for an 11th episode).

So was this really. It concluded the arc that it started with which was the divorce. Evil morty is obviously one of those things that will pop up randomly until they finally deal with it seasons later

In the sense that there were no high stakes and carry over ending for season 4. S1 was more minor but they still sent the house and party goers to another dimension while it ends with Morty and Summer freezing time everywhere on earth. S2 finale, basically Rick's only friend dies and their family goes on the run from the Federation, the episode ending with Rick turning himself in so his family can go home to their Federation-ridden Earth. Then we have last night's finale, where Rick and Morty have some hilarious beef with the US President and Beth and Jerry get back together after she has an existential crisis.

Again, the episode itself was great for something that's in the beginning or middle of the season. But the finale itself? There was 0 *oomph* there and it was disappointing.

That was a really funny episode but I do agree that it didn't feel suitable for a finale. I guess that's largely because the season two finale really did feel like one even though one and three didn't.

I still find it hilarious Beth never stopped to think that if she were a clone she'd never know about that whole deal rick said about her real self traveling the cosmos. But at least it confirms Rick was hardcore bullshitting about her being not evil but smart. She's a dumb sociopath with an over inflated ego.

That's the Rick and Morty way. Each season has one big plot episode, a couple moderate plot episodes, and then the rest are only minor or no plot.

Season 1 had the pilot and Ricksy Business as moderate episodes, and Close Encounters of the Rick Kind as a major episode.

Season 2 had A Rickle in Time and Mortynight Run as moderate episodes, and The Wedding Squanchers as a major episode.

Season 3 had Rickshank Rickdemption AND The Ricklantis Mixup up as plot episodes, and The Rickchurion Mandate as moderate episodes.

We've already got TWO plot episodes this season. If you honestly expected another, then you don't understand Rick and Morty. The type of people that demand shows start having a heavy story focus are the type of people that ruin good shows. That's what happened to Adventure Time.
