Is so goddamn obvious but the difference between 1080p and 4k is basically non-existent.

Depending on the screen size and the distance you sit from the screen, you might not notice the difference between 900p and 4k.

If you are 50 feet from a 50" screen, you wont see the difference between 720p and 4k resolutionwise.

Diminishing returns

There is certainly a noticeable difference if you have a screen that can take advantage but the average living room set-up will probably get no benefit

The human eye doesn't see a fixed resolution.

If the resolution is too low, you can't even see the human eye in the first place.

Like I said, if the resolution is too low, eyes won't be visible. That's basic science.
