Poll of the Day > I watched Beauty and the Beast (2017) yesterday. Mini-review.

I haven't watched the animated movie in over 20 years and I don't remember being a fan of it as a child tbh.

I became interested in the live action Disney version for some reason. One of those reasons being that Emma Watson is absolutely beautiful.

I forgot about it until I saw it on the list of movies coming to Netflix and I finally watched it yesterday.

Normally I'm not into musicals, but I LOVED B & B!!! Everything about it was great! I'm going to buy it digitally soon.

I even liked the changes they made to make it modern like (spoilers in case you haven't watched it): interracial couples, diversity, and gay characters. It's rare when I like changes made from existing material because it usually looks like they changed it for the sake of changing it and for publicity. But it was very well done here and I applaud everyone that made this movie for doing a great job including as many people as possible.

But yeah, it was great. The acting, visuals, music, everything was great. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. It's on Netflix (US). I'm going to watch it again a few more times this week. That's what I usually do with movies I love.

I think that if your casted lead has to be autotuned then you made a terrible choice in casting your leading.

Caught a clip of the Gaston song, which looked okay although the editing was absolute shit and it lacked the frenetic energy of the animated version.

I don't know if she was autotuned or not. Haven't heard anything about that at all.

She was, as a matter of fact, autotuned and you can tell if you listen attentively while she sings. I'm sure there are comparison videos between her "singing" and that of the original Belle that would make this clear, you should look it up.
