Many people are saying how Nintendo stole the idea of a Metroid II remake from AM2R, and that it belongs with the rest of the Metroid games.

Many of these comments are extreme butthurt. Of course Nintendo isn't going to recognize a fan-made game as a part of Metroid.

Scrolled through dozens of comments and saw 2 minor AM2R mentions. I came across more Fusion fanboys lol.

Anyway, I just look at it as us having 2 great Metroid 2 remakes. If anyone wants to play AM2R, it's easy enough to find. Nintendo were well within their rights to C&D it, whether we agree with it or not.

Hell, what if they did? AM2R was made with the goal that there could be more quality Metroid in the world, and now that's exactly what's happening. If SR was made in response to AM2R, then, great! Mission accomplished.

I believe it, Nintendo literally stole the idea for a Starfox Sequel and 3D Mario platformer from Argonaut and used pieces of the code from the cancelled Starfox 2 that was pretty much finished in Super Mario 64 and Starfox 64.

@markmacd @jamesmielke @dylancuthbert My fav is the one where he tries to suggest he gave Miyamoto the idea for Mario 64. (Great read tho)

@johntv @markmacd @jamesmielke yes that's a bit of a stretch, although we did 3d platforming tests while making Starfox 2

Use some critical thought dude. Croc came out a year and a half after Mario 64. At most they experimented with 3D platforming during Star Fox 2 but I highly doubt Argonaut studios were the only company doing this at the time.
