tl;dr conservative groups have not pushed back on this bill the way they had on previous bills, and also the CBO analysis is being fast-tracked which indicates they want to vote on it sooner rather than later

guys this is a very concerning development

the CBO score will not include information about coverage losses or premium hikes, and the vote could be as early as next wednesday

I thought they were unable to mess with ACA legislation for like a year

so capito and collins are still against i would assume

the "one more" they need is probably murkowski or mccain

so the real fight isnt really anything local but in a couple small states

Capito ended up caving last time. All eyes are on McCain. It's going to be punted to his committee, even (homeland security?) I don't know the details, but this is to satisfy his "proper process" concerns

well i dont think any action by voters can influence him

he's retiring and then dying, so idk what is in his head but we can't change it

the other GOP senators' position is "i am not in a competitive re-election so fuck you"

yeah, at this point the best bet is to try to get GOP governors to go against it in public

they are planning on getting 10-20 GOP governors to openly endorse it next week, though. At an RGA meeting or something?

edit - we've been in communication with the governor here, and he's supposed to comment on it tomorrow. Last time he was 'concerned about the cost-shift to the states" so hopefully he says something along those lines again

i just dont see how any of that is gonna change their view

they're there to serve their campaign contributors, not their constituents

as obama said, elections have consequences. dems whiffed on their voter turnout in the only states that matter and this is what we get. we'll do the same to the GOP when we get back on track.

The reason McCain is suspected to be tentatively in support is because the governor of Arizona had publicly supported it. Statewide officials in the same state and part usually have done relationship
