So much easier to boil with baking soda to get everything out immediately

I made bacon in the oven then put the tray back in (during breakfast) and forgot about it. How the fuck can I clean that?

That's what I did when I was a dishwasher. Sometimes (read: about 90% of the time) the stuff was so burnt on and I was so busy and bogged down with dirty dishes that I just had to let pots and pans soak and move on to the many other things that needed to be done.

With some dish soap and elbow grease. A metal scouring pad is your friend if the surface is not teflon.

bad move, now she's gone and I have to do it all and it's all more crusted

Washing pots without first soaking them is an example of working harder, not smarter.

My brother takes this one step further. He'll just finish what's in the pot/pan, and leave them sitting on the stove.

This depends on how bad things are. Soaking them, leaving the job and then coming back to it later to finish might fall under double handling your work, especially when "working harder" just means using a bit of elbow grease.

Do it properly the first time so you don't have to do it all again the second, that's another thing people say.

You guys are all noobs.

Take the pot/pan, dump some baking soda in it, put a good amount of water in, mix it to make a baking soda liquid, add a couple of drops of dish soap, then put it on the stove on high until it boils (before it overflows)

The toughest shit slides right off.

Baking soda is like zero dollars and you only need a couple of squirts of dish soap

Yeah or just scrub it with baking soda and skip the boiling chemistry experiment.
