Because I always thought it was stupid as hell. No one listens to what you're actually saying, and no one remembers what you said. Everyone just sits there and waits their turn. Multiple times I made up a name, then later we'd break into groups or something and no one would remember what anyone said and we'd all have to introduce ourselves again. It's just a waste of time.
