The death toll caused by cartels doesn't hold a candle to the casualties caused by actual wars.

Calm thine tits.

it's like 150k deaths attributable to drug cartel violence over the last decade

I mean yeah that's not like a real war but its not peanuts either

in a 5 year period, the Syrian Civil War has killed like ~500k? or 1m over a 10 year period?

that is a disparity but only by one order of magnitude.

the iraq war had like 150k casualties over 5 years.

What aren't people understanding. Obama passed this law without congress. Trump repealed an overreach of power. He gave congress 6 months to go about this the right way.

Now there's more Republicans than Democrats. So those stupid ass Democrats are now forced to work with Trump to make a deal. It's cruel as fuck but I get why he did it.

Imagine calling illegal immigrants "refugees"

Thry're largely fleeing Mexico. There's no war in Mexico.

There is no war, just paramilitary drug lords beheading people on the regular.

This is not an academic paper to be graded. Additionally, you're showing a fundamental misunderstanding as to why Wikipedia is not allowed as a source in academic research.

Wikipedia is a perfectly valid resource for online discussions.

just in case the dude doesn't understand what you mean I will assist him

the teacher wants you to actually do investigative work and not just google the answer

it isn't because wiki has wrong info, but because they did the work for you that the teacher wants you to learn

like using a calculator on a math test

you saying "lol wiki" is saying the calculator has the wrong answer because your teacher told you that you couldn't use one

I mean that wasn't really where I was going with it. Lots of professors say you can go to wikipedia all you want, just don't cite them in the paper.

And the reason for that is due to the fact that Wiki is an "everybody edits" type of learning material, a quote that you cite from Wikipedia literally might not exist by the time the professor gets to grading the paper who now has little to no way to validate your work.

When you post a wiki link, and people can click on it in real time and see the claims you're making, they can see if those claims themselves are supported. If you link to some wiki page and the whole fucking thing is full of a bunch of [citation needed] tags, then your argument isn't being helped by wikipedia.

if it's backed by actual citations though, it is, and it's fine to use wikipedian in those circumstances.

the volatile ever-changing nature of wiki is what makes it bad to put on generally unchanging academic reporting. It's otherwise a perfectly valid source in a realtime discussion.

There is not a single benefit to ending DACA, not a single one. It's despicable, it's monstrous, and it's a direct attack on everything it means to be an American.

Which is why congress should get off their ass and pass a law that does what the DACA did as a temporary measure 6 years ago.

I will never understand why people get upset over a simple question and then when they express their unsupported outrage and it gets debunked they will cling to it with their dear life to try and save face and keep their belief that isn't factual

like I said, give me a contrary source and you will change my mind

but apparently the same cannot be said for you?

are you one of those people who sticks to crazy conspiracies and rejects history books? if not, then what is the deal?

Guess what:

Pilgrims were illegal immigrants.

Every person on this content, except for Native Americans, is an immigrant.

This country was founded by immigrants, for immigrants.

Asking "should they be allowed in?" is a rhetorical question.

You probably shouldn't use native Americans as justification for why illegal immigration is fine. Under that model, we're the Natives and the current immigrants are the colonists, and we both know how badly they got fucked by immigrants.
