These same people would be feigning outrage if white gamers never created minority characters or included people of color in their online images. This isn't about social progress. This just just clickbait.
If somebody is posting a racially insensitive picture as a response, then that would most certainly constitute "digital blackface." But if they're getting mad because somebody posts a reaction gif featuring a black celebrity or because a white guy created an Asian avatar in his favorite MMO, there's no call to be mad about that. It's just people pushing dirt to get traffic on their site and generate a little revenue with the advertisers. ... Copied to Clipboard!
