condescension from a place of privilege isn't helping you here. you have no stake in this at all, yet feel so impassioned that you take help but talk down to people you can't relate to. and from a place of spite and ignorance, no doubt.

all you've contributed to this topic are examples of White privilege.

You talk down to people all the time. But let me guess? You're oppressed right so it doesn't count?

White fragility induced projection detected!

Along with "insecurity," you keep posting these buzzwords that you clearly don't understand.

what makes you think I don't understand them? or are you just making more unsubstantiated statements that you'll never provide evidence of?

Because you keep misusing them in ways that don't make any sense. This isn't Tumblr or the Vox comments section.

like I said, no evidence.

show me.

also, calling something a "buzzword" means nothing, lol. words have context around them, and if you don't have the capacity to understand that, you really shouldn't be addressing other people while these discussions are going.

Of course I have no stake in this, nobody with an ounce of common sense has any stake in this. If your self-worth is so low that having a black face on a dollar bill makes you feel better about yourself you need help. In any case you have no room to talk about talking down to people, that's all you ever fucking do.

representation, period. you think you have the privilege to decide how other people should feel about representation. I personally don't even care about the image on the dollar. YOU don't get to tell other people how to feel about their representation. period.

you also don't understand what you read because I clearly said your condescension comes from a place of privilege, and that wasn't helping you here. that sentence set the context for my entire point.

you're so dead set on trying to get your contempt out, that you missed the entire point. sigh.

what are you gonna follow it up with? a straw man?

You talk about white fragility but get butt devastated everytime someone points out a wrong that some random black person committed.

You project like a pro.

Representation just for representation's sake is worthless. Again, what good would it actually do? You and your ilk have yet to make any argument in favor of it besides screaming about representation. Hell if anything I'd rather there be no faces whatsoever, save on the ink. As far as why I didn't suggest anything, it's because I'm not in a position to know where the money would be best used. But if you really need a suggestion, how about literally anything besides wasting it on making money more expensive to make? Maybe somewhere in education working on trying to reduce the significantly higher drop-out rate in schools.

So know you are suggesting that the ink cost more. Dear lord you guys come up with excuse after excuse.

Ricky and CJsdowg, as a fellow black man I is Smart is right here.

Harriet Tubman on the $20 is not the representation we need. This is bronze age thinking. Barack Obama as president is one thing, hell even Ben Carson as a Physician is another. But black people don't need pieces of paper for validation, that is low hanging fruit. Frankly I don't care about who is on the $20, the battle between this and statues feels too idolatrous to me

you don't speak for all Black people, Jesse Jackson. I don't care about Black faces being on money(like I already said), but I'd never tell somebody who feels lack of representation that they're wrong to have appreciated representation in that form.

I don't understand why you thought it'd be cool to make a post like that, tbh.

if it were up to me I'd scrap both Tubman and Andrew Jackson and put John Ross on the bill.

Most people probably would have no fucking idea who he is, but they'd find out soon enough.

Bob Ross would be better. imagine how many trees would be on that dollar.

I wouldn't know whether to spend it or smoke it.

People want Tubman to replace a fucking president.

Well yeah. She's more important than him and is a much better person with more positive impact on the country.

EternalDivide posted...

If the criteria is simply "it has to be a woman" then I can think of ones that actually deserve to be on currency.
Why not Frances Perkins first woman to hold a Cabinet position.
Sandra Day O'Connor first woman on the Supreme Court. Granted she's still alive.
Jeannette Rankin women's rights advocate and first woman to hold national office.

That's all lesser than what Tubman's done though. So it's a bad argument.

Literally the opposite and wanted people judged only on the content of their character. AKA no race or any other things.
