Not that it's a competition, but how long? It's been on for about 10 years for me I have been diagnosed with depression for about 16 years, with the last 10 being quite bad. I've never had a girlfriend and even after graduating college 3 years ago I can't find a job and so I barely avoid being homeless. If you would've told me 15 years ago that this is where I'd be I think knowing that would be too much for me to handle. But yeah it's not a competition. There is just this phenomenon I think with depressed people who feel like they haven't been helped enough to want to win the "who has it worst" competition just because they might assume the world only has empathy for those who have suffered the most.
