When a young adult goes through the temple for the first time, the vast majority have no idea what to actually expect. Mormons dont talk about this stuff at all.
When my mom went through the temple for the first time, she was like "WTF?". She had no idea it was so culty and it made her feel really weird. There is a reason they only let you in after you have had decades of brainwashing.

Like, all religions are wacky, but you have to be a special kind of ignorant to buy what the Mormons sell. Their holy text is one of the few in the world that can be flat out disproved via modern archaeological evidence.

Not to mention, Joseph Smith literally made his living as a con-man before he started the religion. He would tell people he had a magic rock and could use it to find treasure on their land. He eventually admitted the rock was fake, but ended up using it years later to "translate" the Book of Mormon lol. Understandably, they dont talk about that stuff in church.

The first is Scientologists, the second is not really a real point (why NOT Missouri?), the third is all Christians (Noah's Ark etc), the fourth is no sillier than a talking snake or bush, the fifth isn't even true (blacks are still believed to be black due to the curse of Caine), and the sixth is Catholicism.

I maintain that it's not any more or less idiotic than other mainstream religions. The only difference I see is that Mormons believe it wholeheartedly instead of halfheartedly.

Further, the difference here is that child rape is ENSHRINED in the mormon religion. That was basically the reason it was created. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young used the church to have sex, and mormons EMBRACE that. They openly say that god told Joseph and Brigham to do it, and it was 100% ok.
Once again, the church had to stop due to social pressures (though fringe sects like Warren Jeffs' group still do it).
