Doesn't feel like the same production team. Art's different, animation is janky, way too much gore, crappy jokes, none of the emotional/dark pulls from S1 or S2. I dunno. Just not liking it.

I didn't start watching the show until a month and a half ago. I didn't have huge expectations and this isn't related to hype. Season 3 just isn't that good

They brought in a buncha female writers. Feminists ruin everything. Oh well. At least we have the first two seasons to remember

I feel Harmon is using the show to express his divorce way too hard and the show is suffering for it. Like we get it, you're divorced, but essentially cutting out Chris Parnell (the second billed voice) is fucking stupid. He's awesome.

I think the issue is its become too self aware. The whole "Its pickle rick!" and "Its gonna be a Jerry adventure!" scenes feel forced. I feel like it could get away with it in the early seasons, but now its becoming the shows identity.

I don't think it is terrible but it does seem like it is missing something. I think the gore and the trippy sequence like in last week's episode are pretty boring. It seems like Super Jail is leaking into it.

the characters have changed. rick is meaner without some sort of intelligent reasoning for it, morty is stronger and more demanding which destroys his point in the first place, jerry's more aware, etc

the jokes also feel more forced and almost exhausted in some way.

I just recently saw that he, apparently, went on an angry rant in which he identified 1/3 of all Americans as Nazis and fascists and that civil war in America is currently on going. Also that, instead of debating or arguing with "Nazis", they should be killed.

This. The Pickle Rick thing is just a play on Tiny Rick or whatever. People really seem to blow out of propotion how "meme-ish" it is.

And the show has always 4th wall moments. The first season literally ends with Rick yelling "that's the end of Season 1".

there has always been a lot of gore and meta moments
and I don't see the trip sequence any different than say the music video bit in s2
it's certainly more reliant on longer and more direct monologues, and the characters have all felt like they're in constant transition personality-wise, coming to terms with one another

but I still like it a ton
guess it depends on how the longer arc of it wraps up
