Make sure your city allows it first. Friends of mine removed some grass and poured some concrete to widen their driveway. Apparently it requires a permit and someone snitched. They ended up getting a fine from the city.

Now there are plenty of building code and permit laws that make sense, but what possible danger could extending a driveway on your own property present? Just sounds like revenue generating bullshit to me.

If it involves breaking up or damaging the curb, it usually requires a permit because the city owns the curb (and technically they own the first 5-10 feet of your lawn)

What Does the %u201CL%u201D on the Gear Shift Stand For?
P, R, N, D, these are all letters on your automatic transmission that you%u2019re probably familiar with. However, you might rarely, if at all, shift into %u201CL%u201D on the gear shift. So what does this letter stand for? And should you use it?

L stands for low gear. When your car is in drive, or D, the automatic transmission will shift through the gears as your speed increases. When your car is in low, or L, the transmission won%u2019t shift. Instead, it remains in a low gear, and less fuel is injected into the engine.
