Looks like a good card tbh. Haven't been watching NXT, but surprised they aren't doing Ciampa vs. Gargano at a Takeover, considering what happened at Takeover: Chicago.

Anyone else hyped for the show?

My predictions:

- Gargano and Black win.
- Whichever team is the heels wins the tag title match. AoP were heels at the last takeover, I thought SAnitY were a heel team too, and I don't follow the weekly NXT show to know if one of them turned face. If they're somehow both heels, then I'll say AoP retains.
- Asuka retains.
- McIntyre wins.

I knew - yes, I was going to fight. Because that’s what we do, right? That’s what this is about, that’s what #DIY has been about since day one - two kids who fight. BUT... I, I put it aside. I looked at Johnny Gargano, my best friend, and I said “Aye, we’re gonna go and we’re gonna fight cause that’s what we do, man”. TakeOver: Chicago, when those lights are bright no one performs like #DIY, so Johnny and I, we’re gonna fight. And I let it all pass by, and here we come, we return to Chicago in a ladder match with AoP and we fought. We fought - cause that’s what we do.

And I realize we lost, and I’m gonna be honest. In the ladder match, I took a fall. I felt something in my knee pop and, man, I’ve been doing this for twelve years and I know the difference between being hurt and being injured, and I knew that this was serious. I knew that I was about to go away for a long, long time. And I laid there, man, in the ring and I just decided, I gotta keep fighting. Right? #DIY, we gotta keep fighting, that’s what we do. So I put it all aside. For you people. For my best friend. I put it all aside, and I fought. It wasn’t enough, but hell, man, we fought.

At the end of the night, when I looked across at Johnny and we were sitting in this ring, I looked across at my best friend - my brother. I looked out at you people, I looked across at Johnny Gargano and I realized... y’all are just alike. And just like you were about to replace me just like that, there was no doubt in my mind that Johnny Gargano was gonna do the same damn thing. If given the opportunity, if I went away, Johnny Gargano wouldn’t even hesitate. And I wasn’t gonna let that happen. I wasn’t gonna become an afterthought.

So, man, I... in that moment, I made my decision. I knew what had to be done. It’s not my fault. It’s your fault! It’s Johnny Gargano’s fault. Because, man, we had something special with #DIY! But you all ruined it! And if I was gonna go away for a long, long time, then Johnny Wrestling was gonna go away for a long, long time.

TL;DR: Ciampa suffered an ACL injury. He'll probably attack Gargano later on and screw him over (maybe during an NXT title shot) to rekindle the rivalry.

Damn, I didn't know he ruptured his ACL and still had a great heel turn moment.

Apparently he'll be back around March next year, so probably a Takeover: New Orleans match.

I agree with the first 3 picks, but disagree with the next two. I kind of hope that SAnitY gets called up and I think it's time for Asuka to be called up too. idk how I'd feel with Asuka not dropping the title to put someone over, but I could kind of understand it. I also think Roode retains cause his reign has been glorious.

I want Asuka's reign to continue for at least a couple more weeks, and that means her beating Ember Moon tonight. She very recently hit 500 days as champ, and if she reaches 524 days, she officially has the longest title run of any kind since the peak of Hulkamania. Only Lex Luger (who held the WCW United States Championship for 523 days at one point) has had a longer title run since Hogan's 4-year reign of terror. After Asuka passes that milestone, then she can drop the title and get called up.

I'm fine with either Roode or McIntyre winning the NXT Championship match as long as it's a great match, and whoever loses should be called up to the main roster pretty soon. I'd slightly prefer McIntyre winning and Roode getting the call-up though.

I'd like to see a rule that champions can earn a call-up if they hold their title for a certain amount of time. 6 months seems reasonable, though I could see as many as 9.

it shouldn't be the only way for them to graduate (that would get a little predictable), but it gives the writers an out so almost everyone doesn't have to lose on their way up.

I personally think Asuka should put someone over when she leaves tbh.

She's been making the NXT Women's division her bitch. They need to have a new "star" for when she's called up. The bonafide way to do that is to put someone over. I honestly don't know who that should be, but I feel like it'll be Ember. Haven't watched the weekly NXT shows though and only watch the TakeOvers, so I could be completely wrong on who it should be.

As long as she doesn't vacate the title until a few weeks after tonight, then that works. Have Asuka refuse treatment and try to work injured for the next week or two, but then NXT's GM (Regal?) has to reluctantly force her to vacate the title "for her own good". I really want her to pass that 523-day milestone that I mentioned before.

I like SAnitY cause their music is OP af.

AoP also had some great matches the last two TakeOvers with #DIY and #DIY/The Revival so I'm hopeful.

I thought that at the beginning because faces don't usually use a 4-on-2 numbers game to cheat and gain an advantage like SAnitY did. But then I saw the pop that SAnitY got, and then I saw the beatdown they took after the match, and that made me think they might have been the faces.

But even in a heel vs heel feud, you have to give the fans a (kayfabe) reason to cheer for one of them over the other or a lot of the fans won't care who wins. That usually means temporarily turning one of them into less of a heel. Not necessarily face or tweener, just less of a heel than their opponent.
