i wouldn't worry about the alzheimer's. in the future they may have a cure for it (or at least slow down the progression of the disease) if it even does happen.

I also spent $5 on Promethease cause there's somethings 23andMe won't tell you cause of legal issues, but getting the full report was a good idea



Positives:
lower heart attack risk than average
lower prostate cancer risk
1.5x~2.7x more likely to live to 100
0.70x decreased risk for multiple sclerosis
unlikely to go bald
lower lung cancer
lower risk of dementia and Alzheimer's disease
higher good cholesterol



Negatives:
higher risk for brain cancer than the average person
carrier of a red hair associated variant; higher risk of melanoma
2x higher risk for skin cancer
1.4x increased risk of developing bladder cancer
slightly increased risk for ADHD or depression
increased type-2 diabetes risk
increased risk of age related macular degeneration, 10x increased risk of exfoliation glaucoma

I'm also at a higher risk of getting Alzheimer's disease. It means we both carry a copy of the APOE gene. And my muscles are also fast-twitch.

It also means at least one of your parents is also at an increased risk of getting Alzheimer's disease. :(
