It varies. I've been seen early and I've had to wait. I've also watched my uncle lollygag (well not really but wasn't in a hurry) on seeing someone at his practice .

I'm pretty sure there's a little law somewhere that prevents physicians from billing for services that weren't rendered. Not even remotely.
My dentist is awesome about this but I have never seen a physician that didn't make me wait for damn near an hour (or more; some have made me wait for two or more). One time it even took 5 whole hours but that was a really odd case so slack must be cut. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Sometimes urgent or emergent calls come up and they need to be evaluated before you. The 15 minutes block thing is unavoidable for PCPs because there's such a huge doctor shortage.
