I specified physical since digital games don't really have any resale value anyway, plus nowadays that probably makes for way too many games to count.

My dirty little secret is that I only own about 100 physical games... total. I bet most people on here have more than 100 per system alone, but eh, I don't know how somebody could possibly have the time to play all those. I haven't even played nearly all of my games, so it's enough for me.

I don't want to valuate each, so I'm going to just say $20 per might be a good estimate. Some are worth a lot less, but some a lot more. So that would make mine worth about $2000 total.

A few thousand. I probably own around 400 physical games and some of those include things like Cubivore, Fire Emblem Fates: SE, Rule of Rose, Tomba, and Power Stone 2.

How much it's worth: probably about $50 for everything. I just can't imagine anyone would pay very much for it

chewy I think your estimate of $20 per game is way way way too high

Nah, I own a bunch of Nintendo games, remember? Most of those are worth more than $20, except maybe for the Wii and Wii U games. My 360 games are probably worth like $5 each, but I have few physical ones anyway.

No I have many retro games. I'm just basing my assumption off what places like Cex, Game and whatnot will give you. It's not much at all.

I don't know what either of those places are, but if they're game resell stores, no shit. They're trying to sell the games themselves so of course they're not going to give you much if they want to actually make money.

Maybe like 300-400 bucks if I sold them myself, I don't even have that many but at like 5-10 bucks a piece or so, I could see myself getting that much, especially selling one at a time and not bundles.

I've lost, sold, and broke at lot of games over the years, otherwise it'd definitely be in the thousands.

People always say this but I don't find it true. If anything, it seems like game values have gone up (though it may not necessarily be related). At least, whenever I try to find an original copy of something that's on VC and whatnot, it still seems really expensive

guess there's some things that'll always be expensive. last i heard things like earthbound were losing value like crazy because nintendo was finally re-releasing it on like everything. suppose a collector would still drool over the game in its original case, though.

Somewhere in the $20k-$30k range.

I have just over 1000 physical games, including a good deal of rare ones. The lion's share of that value, though, is tied up in just two games - a 1990 NWC and a 1994 Blockbuster World Championship II cart.

I don't know if Earthbound is losing value or not, but either way it costs around $180, so I don't exactly think the VC is making it worthless

Earthbound was ridiculously overvalued for a while. I think the high watermark was an unopened copy selling for $2500 on eBay, which is crazy. Earthbound, even NIB, is not rare enough to command those sorts of prices.

A lot of people - myself included - expected things to normalize, and they did.

earthbound. complete in box or new in box, should only be worth around $50.

it's not like i even want it that low so i can buy it, i already have it complete in box.

that's just how much the thing is worth.

I'm bad at math sometimes haha. I don't value each game at $60 each since the value does go down after time.

My modern-ish games collection isn't worth much. It was mostly pulled from bargain bins, Greatest Hits releases, or bought used at a pretty steep discount compared to when it was new. I doubt I could even find takers for Army of Two, let alone assign a value to it.

My PS2 collection is another story. A few of those go for more now than I paid for them.

Probably not that much. None of my famicom games have boxes or manual so that's a huge cut in value. Some of my super famicom and megadrive games have boxes and manual but most of them are common. Same thing with my disc games. I think my collection barely kept up with inflation, if at all.

Far less than what I paid for it. There are a handful of things I got cheap and a handful of things I never opened where the value might be more or similar, but everything else has deteriorated. Even assuming I got $5 per game -- which I wouldn't for the most part, even with the more expensive ones balancing things out -- I own maybe 500 or 600 physical games so that'd only be $2,500 or $3,000.
