It's just the people who are between 12-18 who are super self conscious about themselves and want to feel as mature as possible that feel their games are too childish.

I hate this reasoning

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

Xenoblade is made by Monolith which Nintendo owns, much like how FE is made by Intelligent Systems, which Nintendo owns. Sin and Punishment, Nintendo also owns, Fatal Frame series as a whole isn't owned by Nintendo but they own and managed the last several games. Bayonetta 2 was mostly funded by Nintendo, which probably means they own that title, probably not the series as a whole? I dunno.

But the main argument here is Nintendo as an entity unable to make mature games, which is obviously false, and we're arguing against an obvious 12 year old trying to overcompensate for something. It's fine TC, they'll grow in time

And boobies! Don't forget boobies!!

But yeah I'm wondering as well. I'm 35 and super hyped for Mario Odyssey. Some of their stuff may be a bit more "cutesie" than I prefer but if its fun, who cares?

Some of the so called "mature" games can definitely be fun, but usually the only people who are all "OMG THIS IS SO MATURE!!!!!!!" are the 12 year olds who think they are awesome for playing a game with blood and swearing, and weird witch ladies with hair and boobs, or hairy boobs, whatever is going on in Bayonetta...

Xenoblade is first party.

Nintendo owns the IPs for Sin & Punishment and Eternal Darkness. They also have some ownership over the Fatal Frame IP nowadays.

They also own the rights to Bayonetta 2, which is why it will never be released on a non-Nintendo platform as it is now.
