I used Morgana a bunch. Healing and Lucky/Miracle Punch, too good. Also, maybe it's just me but I felt like there were a lot of wind weaknesses around the end.

Sorey just makes me think of the way Canadians say "sorry" and I feel like it should always be followed by an "eh?"

I always made sure Joker had a Persona with a Garu skill on it to compensate for the lack of Morgana!

I always used Morgana since he was my favorite party member (other than Futaba). Also used Makoto (who is also great) and didn't really love the rest of the crew that much, so I played with Haru, whose gun abilities are surprisingly powerful.

Joker/Makoto/Ryuji/Yusuke was the best for bosses because they have all the buffs covered.

I liked Haru a lot outside of boss fights though, partly because she had a weakness that almost never gets exploited.

My party for most of the game was Joker/Ann/Yusuke/Makoto, mainly because I liked them.

as such, Ryuji and Morgana arguing about who was more useless was really funny to me

I haven't seen the TitS anime but have heard uniformly terrible things.

Also I pretty definitively agree on Joker/Ryuji/Yusuke/Makoto being the best party. Covers all buffs which is the main thing, and Ryuji and Yusuke have solid damage. Admittedly I do think Yusuke is kinda bad until late game, but once he got Masukukaja he was a mainstay.

Yeah, Yusuke isn't too great until he starts getting some of his higher level stuff. I think I mostly used Ann instead of him for bosses until he got Masukukaja.

Haru is really incredible once she gets going. Easily my favorite of the party members. The baton pass struggle is real, though. Yusuke was pretty good for me because I fused him a sword that gives him +5 Str, which stacked on an accessory that gave him +5 Str. Aside from that, yeah, he's probably the weakest. I think Makoto ended up pretty weak for me too.

I swear, by endgame, I had a serious lack of Personas that had a good Garu or Zio skill.

Yeah, endgame Makoto is the weak link in the group in terms of offensive output, but she can buff defense and heal (as well as undo enemy buffs), so she remains pretty useful for me.

Huh, so the four guys you eavesdrop on at the fancy restaurant to celebrate stealing Kamoshida's heart are the same four guys you have to get letters of recommendation from in Shido's Palace. Neat connection point.

Also, you can see some shady guys talking about jobs that pay a lot and accosting students about them this early on, so they're already laying the groundwork for the Kaneshiro arc.

It's interesting that Ann is the first person to feel like they're being watched, and then the next day Makoto essentially outright confirms that she's the one watching us when she said that Ann and I looked pretty close when she saw us together yesterday.

Subtlety is not one of Makoto's strong suits.

I've determined that I need to add a handheld game to my queue, so I'm going to attempt to get back into the Professor Layton series. I beat the first game a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. I started the second game and dropped it early on, so I'm going to restart it because I barely remember anything about it.

Oh right, I also finished listening to the audiobook of "Ready Player One" while I was at work today. I didn't even realize they were making this into a movie until I was already partway through it. And Spielberg is directing it? Huh.

Anyway, the book was pretty much the definition of "all right." There were parts I enjoyed and parts I didn't, simple as that. None of the characters were really anything special except for Art3mis (yes that's how her name is spelled in the book because it's an online user name), who was pretty great. I'd have probably dropped the book altogether if she didn't exist. In fact, I was on the verge of dropping it right around the time she showed up, and her character convinced me to stick it out. So for that, I will give her a spot on the New and Improved Female Character Rankings 2.0.

Zestiria Update: I recently got Edna as a party member. She immediately became the best character.

Also, my primary complaint so far is the battle system feels... unresponsive? The combo system seems to baffle me so far. I understand how it's supposed to work, but it's like my inputs aren't always accepted as intended. Which is... frustrating.

Huh, right when you first activate Madarame's Palace, Morgana expresses surprise at winding up in the Metaverse because they immediately started the navigation. Ann asks if Morgana can sometimes slip into the Metaverse without realizing it, and he says it's possible if there's minimal cognitive distortion because the differences are sometimes too subtle to notice.

Interesting bit of foreshadowing there, I suppose.
