You know, this game was a lot of fun. It had some of the best graphics of the N64 era.

I really, really don't think they ever needed to make a young Han Solo movie, but I'd be down for it if it meant having Dash Rendar as a character. Yeah, he's the kind of generic hot shot hero which I'm sure George Lucas himself deliberately avoided casting in one of his movies, but there's a nostalgia factor.

Probably haven't played it in about 17+ years, but yeah, I enjoyed it in general.

Man, I'd forgotten the way this game punishes you for trying to avoid getting hit.

The Imperial Troops apply more strategy in this game than they do in the movies. And their aim is spot on. Yours is wonky. It's the total inverse of what it should be. Now the game is generous with health, but that's not the issue. It doesn't make sense from a gameplay standpoint or a narrative standpoint that a human protagonist should be getting shot in the face and chest and come back with shots of his own. He should be avoiding damage.

The controls in that game pissed me off. Other than that, I enjoyed it a lot. My copy don't work anymore :(

I played it in like 2009/2010.

I remember hearing a lot of praise for it.

I was kind of disappointed by it, but I can see why it was amazing at the time. Though that was the same feeling I got from the Jedi Knight games

Never did beat it, got stuck on that bike/speeder level and gave up .

I'd also completely forgotten about the villain who appears on the title screen. If I remember correctly, you don't even fight him.

Christmas 1996: I snuck a peek at a small, Video Game-box-looking present and saw "Star Wars" and the front image of the game...had never really seen an N64 gamebox since, you know, didn't own one. Console came out same year.

Christmas day pick up a random box and open it...N64! Shadows of the Empire was the first game I ever played on the console. And my childhood was com-plete.

I remember the on foot controls being a fucking pain in the ass but I liked the flight missions.

I loved it for its time. It actually made me appreciate the Star Wars soundtrack a lot more when I went back and watched ANH and ESB after playing.

Also, the dianogas (i.e. that cycloptic trash-compactor monster from ANH is now a giant spider-squid that roars at you) gave me a fear of getting attacked in murky water, even in video games.

Remember getting immediately wrecked by (who I assume was) IG-88 when you made it to the scrapyard level after the train sequence? Good times...

I really liked that boss. I feel like they should bring that creature back in one of the movies.

It's kinda silly how every imaginative creature in the Star Wars universe has exactly once scene.
