But if you couldd just like it that would be swell Forever and a day ago (long before Reddit was a thing), someone suggested they should tie an approval system here to karma, so if a user gets a set number of likes they gain extra karma from it. That said, I'd be fine if the criteria were like this: A.) No dislike button B.) You can see who likes what --Also possible, but not necessary: Seeing a user's "active likes" on their profile, akin to active posts. C.) Number of likes does not affect post order D.) And besides, when this idea was considered on the board Site Suggestions and also (now defunct) The Future of GameFAQs, it's repeatedly been rejected. It's what makes places like Imgur an overwhelming haven of bigotry. Where any idea that doesn't conform gets shut down immediately. At least with Reddit and Youtube the individual subreddits and videos can cater to different ideas and communities. And Youtube's dislike button is nonfunctional which actually helps as well.
