I dont know if I can say I'm amazed or not by the fact that a class of weapons exclusively made for large scale destruction is almost tied by a catch all term for innumberable systems of belief that can include altrusitic or pacifistic doctrines.

With that said, all of these choices hold some essential role in the establishment of modern society. The real worst invention is probably something petty and useless like microtransactions/freemium games.

For the record, I voted none of the above.

How about Killer Bees?

Their development was 100% the fault of mankind, and lead to absolutely nothing positive.

nuclear weapons can be good if you aim them at an asteroid

I don't think Athens was a democracy though I'm pretty sure it was a republic
i think democracy came from thomas jeffersons observation of the indians

Money. Its sole purpose is to enable greed and exert control. At least religion, though I hate it more personally, has forced some bad people to be less awful, helped give addicts a less harmful thing to obsess over, and been an important part of documenting events over the centuries that otherwise may not have been.

Wow I never knew that. That's an interesting fact. I also didn't even think of husbandry.

That's defintely a good one though. If they didn't pollinate that could defintely take the cake.

You're both not wrong though. I think the US republic was influenced by the Iroquois Confederacy...

Greece's democracy wasn't really a democracy at all.

Only a certain group could vote, still better than emprerors and kings but still

Anyone who voted nuclear weapons should've voted for money since money is the reason they exist in the first place. Also lol at all the angtheists that voted for religion. I thought the average age here was older than 16

nuclear weapons exist because of war and need to create bigger weapons.

and there is a reasonable argument to be made for religion being bad. all in all i agree we would be better off if every religion was socially unacceptable.

What is the EPA's stance on atomic weapon testing?

What I'm trying to say is the treaty ban halted testing back in the 90's but EPA phased out TEL starting in the 70's.

I voted for leaded gasoline because private individuals had control over its use and it was seen as something good.

Unlike cigarettes and maybe asbestos (mines are different problem) there were widespread consequences in the environment.

Nuclear weapons have their reputation because their effects are so readily apparent at higher exposures. Lead-poisoning messes with your mind and influences criminal behavior. There's even a theory that Rome declined because of lead pipes.

I think religion has killed more people & ruined more lives then anything else. Which is ironic, because of all of all things, its should have being the best invention... Its a funny world we live in.

basically only people who owned land or businesses could vote if i recall right. that includes women btw. later on they made it so anyone could vote but you had to sign up for the draft, however women were not able to sign up for the draft, that's why they couldn't vote but men could now (albeit with a steep price) eventually it was changed to women can vote without signing up for the draft...but men still have to. and black people could technically vote but they had a ton of roadblocks in their way.

Religion. It's so corrupt at its core and affects so many.

You confused religion with government. The two are rarely one and the same.

VeeVees posted...
Religion did not give people morals. It adopted morals from society. Society's morals change and religion follows. That's why normal people ignore stupid religious rules like stoning non-virgins to death and banging your sister in law if you brother died and left no children.

The two are kinda tied at the hip, which is why a lot of then-day practices were incorporated into religious texts.
