My manager found a 1921 morgan silver dollar inside, trapped in our coinstar machine. Its his, not mine, but still worth noting. Silver melt value is 13.50 about, numismatic value is 20-30 dollars. he profited nicely, though i told him do not sell it or clean it up. keep it as it is.

My finds:

1960 silver dime(never found one at work before)
a five dollar bill serial 88188988
A gently circulated 1990 ten dollar bill(older bills in good shape sell above face value. you dont see many pre 1995 bills out there but they're there)
Five Eisenhower dollars, worth about a buck a piece. still neat.

Then the big score.

two completely fresh, unopened rolls of 2011 P and D kennedy half dollar coins directly from the US mint. These were not issued for cirulation. Finding a stray one isnt a huge deal, worth 50 cents to a dollar, but two unopened rolls...worth way more than ten dollars. I feel these might be stolen from a collection or something. I didnt wait on the person who paid with them, but youd be an idiot to specially request coins from the mint directly, then use them at face value. Regardless, stolen or not they're mine now.

So recap:
silver dime
five ikes
gently circulated 1990 ten
88188988 on a five
two unopened rolls of 2011 halves

Well I talked to my manager after I bought them out of the drawer and she said it was a 30ish female, and she got offended when the cashier(20 yrs old) asked if he take half dollars. we do, but theyre rare to see people pay with, but not rare in terms of mintage. 2001 and up are called NIFC coins...not intended for circulation. Mint didnt release any you had to buy em direct.

But two unopened rolls directly from the mint...cant be legit. Nobody who knows the value of coins would do this, and people ordering from the mint directly know coins. Chick stole these, but i dont care. Bring in more and more coins from grandpas collection and ill fucking profit every time.

yeah, but shouldn't you open a roll of coins up to make sure they're all actually there?

Actually, no. The final price was 107.69, which means id lose a little.

buyer immediately contacts me asking if id want to cancel the deal...so I accepted. I know these bills with cool serials arent gonna make me rich but im just talkin' money on the side. Disappointed but glad the dude canceled so now ive still lost no money collection coins and currency. listing was free

No. I can tell there are coins in there because I can feel the ridges and stuff. Plus, they are marked from the mint, and are machine rolled. These are 2011 dated coins, which only came from the mint. The end coins I can see appear to be legit.

I weighed them on our register scales and i dont know how much a machine rolled roll of halves should weigh, and while our scales arent that fine, they did weigh 0.50 lb each.

I might take them to a coin shop to get an opinion but i refuse to open them because the value goes down if they're legit.

These arent hand wrapped or generic machine wrapped rolls. these are directly from the mint, so I am keeping them as fresh as can be

That's pretty cool actually. I remember when I was a kid my grandpa let me play around with this big red toolbox of coins he collected, with everything from the stupid wheat penny and buffalo nickel to some older stuff. It's a hobby I've always wanted to try and get back into.

See, the thing is, there are likely to be a decent number of uncirculated silver quarters from the 60s in brilliant condition, but past 1964 when they were clad, nobody cared, nobody treated them with respect, they got banged up and thrown around. finding a BU 1965-69 quarter could bring in hundreds or thousands. Depending on how it would grade that seems like within the realm of realistic value

Sweet though for sure.

Well thats awesome. is it graded?

If not, consider getting it if you do lots of research into 1960s washington Q grades. If it grades Mint State 67+ it could sell for way more than 120 at auction.

Generally mint state coins are worth decent bit yes, but the upper echelons of mint state can bring untold loads of cash.

Somebody bought a 1967 non silver washington Q for 7,000 dollars because it graded as the best example found graded.
