?

Tabloidish media here in Sweden tend to put together these silly new expressions like "nudityshock" and "boozeparty".

Two example headlines:

"Nudityshock in Big Brother!"

"Photos from Alexander Skarsgård's wild boozeparty!"

just add "gate" on the end of anything and it makes the perfect headline.

also, whenever it snows the news likes to use "snowpocalypse" or "snowmaggedon"

I remember "bullycide" a while back because some kid killed himself after getting bullied and a bunch of places latched onto that for a bit. Kinda orwellian sounding.

Also the whole "-gate" bullshit. I usually stop paying attention to any story the moment people make a -gate out of it because that basically translates to "PAY ATTENTION TO THIS."
