In my first playthrough (which also became my only playthrough because Fallout 4 sucks), I shot Father in the head when you first meet him, because fuck him. Which creates the interesting glitchiness of having both Railroad and Brotherhood questlines terminate, but doing so without actually making either group hostile.

So I basically got an ending where I was still cool with all three factions, and really only had to kill the Institute (which I was going to do anyway). Though it shunted me off the Brotherhood path (which I used to get to the Institute in the first place) and onto the Minutemen path (which is fine because the Minutemen are honestly the only faction that aren't sort of terrible anyway).
