FIFA. Other than FIFA's men's and women's world cups, I'm not even aware of others. I also don't sport, though. My only reason for knowledge of this is that my wife likes soccer.

First thought that comes to mind is "Soccer".

And a pet peeve of mine is when everyone and their Grandmother's act like they care about it, yet don't watch soccer at all on a normal basis. It's just "cool" to care about it because others are. Stupid social media.

Agreed. I don't like sport and don't pretend otherwise regardless of world cups or other tournaments in the sport.

But then my answer to their question would be "I watched it once in 1994 and haven't given a single shit since."

I am AWARE that FIFA is the governing body for global association football administration (hence the FIFA games), but I rarely think of any sport (or "pseudo-sports") in terms of its most common league. So it's "baseball" and not "The MLB", "basketball" and not "The NBA," and so on.
