10 or so years.

Live action only, I mean (so not counting Miyazaki)

Save for a few duds (Dark Knight Rises, Batman Begins, Insomnia)

every time I sit through a Nolan movie, I leave blown away.
No other film maker on Earf like him, man. He doesn't follow all the stupid conventions every other film maker does and it shows.

Like he's clearly not trying to emulate what he thinks is a good movie, he's just creating what he wants, man

Compare him to the shittiest mainstream director, JJ Abrams, and it's almost laughable anyone can stomach an Abrams film. He's an untalented hack with no vision, who constructs movies based on an algorithm he thinks will play well in theaters

JJ Abrams is scum

I think Tarentino is up there, but you kind of know what to expect from his movies and you always leave with what you expected, and I never leave the theater feeling some type of way like I do after watching a Nolan film.

I don't think Batman is interesting enough to carry a movie.
I liked Dark Knight mostly for the Joker and his shenanigans

It just wasn't that good tbh.

Just a well made, but incredibly hollow film.

I loved it. And the person I watched it with also loved it and she's seeing it again tonight.

I may also see it again soon, but I have a lot of homework to do tbh

Okay yeah, in comparison to Dark Knight it's nowhere in its league.

Memento, The Prestige, and Following are my top 3 Christopher Nolan films though because all those three films try to do new things that wasn't found in many modern films.

I didn't like Begins that much for the reasons I said.

I didn't like Rises for similar reasons, but also just annoying plot reasons I'm sure you have heard others say 1,000 times.

And I didn't like Insomnia because Al Pacino's condition wore on me real fast.
I get what he was going for and it was to make the audience experience what the main character was going through, but it didn't translate well for me and just ended up annoying me greatly.

I think Rises is crap, I just think begins is boring. There's nothing crap about it or the plot, I just don't like Batman as a character really or like anything going on in the film.

But Rises has some legit crap moments in it that are just... like why?
I think Nolan was tapped out on Batman ideas and wanted to move on.

Nolan isn't even in the same league as the Coen Brothers.

Blood Simple
Raising Arizona
Miller's Crossing
Barton Fink
Fargo
The Big Lebowski
No Country for Old Men
True Grit

Blows his filmography out of the park.

Scott Pilgrim is probably Edgar Wrights weakest film. Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End, and Baby Driver are all excellent films.
